Have you considered looking into having something custom made? You may be able to find or order matching fabric (either locally or through the manufacturer of the other dresses) and have a dress made that will fit your bridesmaid really well, and be a style that she feels beautiful in. That way, she wouldn’t have to worry about trying something on, either; if it were made for her specifically, it would fit like a glove. Often, having something custom-made isn’t as expensive as you’d think. Good luck!

You could try looking for a plus size bridal store.  They normally carry bridesmaid dresses too.

My sister and I went through this. Here is what we found for her:

See if there is an Alfred Angelo outlet near you or within driving distance. They seem to have lots of options to try in a larger size.

Call every bridal shop and ask them how many bridesmaid dresses they have to try in whatever size your third wears.

David’s Bridal tends to have lots of dresses to try in larger sizes. The quality is not great, but that gives you a sense of styles that look good.

Check out Pretty Maids style Bridesmaid 49. This was a suggestion from a shop and something we never would have tried. My sister, weary of not looking and feeling great, tried it on and wow! It looked great!!!

I also want to encourage you to center the choice around this third bridesmaid. Find something she feels great wearing and then have the others wear something similar. Because (A) thinner women look better in more things and (B) it would be extra-special to give that “gift” to the third bridesmaid.
