I just found a bridesmaid dress (finally!) that both I really like and my bridesmaids really like *and* which is very affordable. However I’m now overthinking it and am worried it might be too similar to my dress.
They a similar neckline, a very similar waist, and are the same tulle fabric. My dress is a lot poofier/bigger and structured, and is obviously a different colour, but I’m beginning to worry if my dress won’t look ‘special’ or it will look too matching? I’m hoping that I’m just overthinking it and they will look good together, but pleeease let me know your thoughts as I need to decide ASAP!

You’re overthinking it. The v neck plunging neckline is a very popular style and I don’t think the two dresses look *that* similar. I think they look very nice together.

I absolutely LOVE your dress and your bridesmaid’s dress is stunning too. It’s a similar-ish shape, but i think it complements your wedding dress beautifully without looking same-y. You will all look incredible!

thank you! I haven’t had many crazy bride moments but in the back of my mind I wondered if this was one! All my bridesmaids feel comfortable in it and like it so that’s the most important thing. I’d been thinking of other ‘slinkier’ fabrics for them so was surprised we picked one in the same fabric, but glad you don’t think it’s too similar.

thank you so much augustbride19 :
I’ve been feeling really weirdly anxious about my dress today so that’s so lovely and reassuring of you!

I do think they look similar and see what youre pointing out, but I kind of like that haha. The bm dresses don’t look bridal at all, and as a pp said it’s a very popular style. I think it would look nice, and that’s IF people even notice lol. If they did notice, they might even think it was intentional. In the olden days, bms wore the same dress (in white and everything) as the bride to distract demons from her.
If your only reason for changing them is so you look more special, well as the bride there’s not much more “special” you can get on your wedding day. So I vote over thinking!

I think the matching V-necks will look fantastic in photos.

Granted I have very little (if any) fashion sense, but I cannot see a single similarity except they are both dresses 😂
I love your dress by the way, I saw one on Instagram the other day which looks identical, is yours Stella York?

Thank you 😊 no it’s from the Art Couture range by Eternity Bridal. Not sure if that’s only a UK brand though.

TBH I was expecting from the title of your post that you had a white lace wedding dress and your bridesmaids were wearing a champagne lace dress in the same silhouette!! 😋
I think your dresses follow a similar theme but in a good cohesive way. They are nice dresses and your wedding dress is stunning and you look amazing in it! Great choices and I hope you come back and post your wedding photos because I want to see your wedding dress in its beautiful and full glory at every angle!!!

I think it will look nice in the pictures because it has a bit of a matched look. The dresses are not white so it’s clear that you’re the bride. Lovely dresses!

this is gonna be a babe parade down that aisle girl 😉

They look nothing alike. And even if they did, I’m quite certain that everyone in attendence will know who the bride is.

Both are beautiful. I do not think you need to worry because it is very clear you are the bride even if they wear that dress. You would definitely be distinct enough.
