I think the 2nd Bari Jay and the 2nd Dessy would be the most "universally flattering" dresses, which your BM’s will def. appreciate you considering.

I’ve heard good things about both brands, so you’re fine either way – but I would def. research where you can find shops nearby that carry the brands and go check some dresses and fabric swatches out in person.

I would agree with krgk84 I would also research where you can find shops nearby that carry the brands and go check some dresses and fabric swatches out in person. I know bridal salons carry Dressy!

I liked the second Bari Jay dress. I have seen bari jay dresses in person and they seemed like good quality. Although I haven’ t tried one on. Good Luck!

I love the 1st Bari Jay, though I think the girls would all have to have uniformly smoking bods to pull it off 🙂

I have heard of Bari Jay and I really wanted to use one of their dresses as a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress, but my sister vetoed the idea and I let her since she would be the one wearing the dress.  Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the last three dresses, I think they would be flattering for many body types.  I haven’t seen Dessy in person, but I have seen the Bari Jay and their dresses seemed like they are good quality.

I love the last Dessy dress!

I chose Bari Jay style 409 for my bridesmaids.  One of the main reasons I chose this brand/style is because it comes in maternity.  I will have two very pregnant BMs at the wedding.  I thought the quality of the sample was fine.  Our actual dresses are not in yet.

I requested a bunch of swatch samples from the store carrying the Bari Jay dresses because I was not sure what color I wanted and the store didn’t have dresses in the color/material combos I was considering.  The swatches were free and arrived in about 2 weeks.

I personally like the Bari Jay 818, it is most versatile for wear after the wedding.  Howevever, I don’t know what size your BMs are either.  That might make a difference.  if you get something with straps, you won’t have any pictures of anyone pulling on their dress to adjust it!  Just a thought!

I wanted to second the comment regarding strapless dresses…have you checked with all your BM’s as to whether they’d be comfortable wearing them?  Just a thought…especially when they have to be standing up in front of a crowd of people many people are uncomfortable with them.  Do any of these have an option to add spaghetti straps if they’d prefer?

I went with my bridesmaids to try on dresses, and we did try the two Dessys you have.  They were great quality, and are well made.  The last dress (Dessy 2058) was the more universally flattering of the two and my bmaids have VERY different body types.  I have also tried on a Bari Jay dress myself, but none of the ones you listed.  Their material seemed just as nice.  So, just pick which style you like the best!  One warning, though – I’m pretty straight up and down, but when I tried on the Bari Jay, it made my hips look too big, despite my lack of curves at all.  It wasn’t one of the styles you have here, but just keep that potential risk in mind for your more curvy bridesmaids!

I am wearing a Dessy dress in a wedding this summer.  The dress is very good quality, the sash is actually sewed to the dress, not just tacked on like other bridesmaid dresses I have worn.  Dessy has a huge array of colors and you can also order your Groomsmen ties to match the dresses perfectly!
