New to the bee wishing I had found this site earlier ?
I am having a last minute panic moment. I have to finalize my bridesmaid dress order today and I just started thinking that there may just be a bit too much taffeta going on ? My dress is silk taffeta as well as the bridesmaids … what do you think ?
TMT ? (TOO MUCH TAFFTEA ) 🙂

i dont think there’s really a "rule" about taffeta
do you have a mental picture of how it "may" look??
if your’e worried about the pictures – could you have a similar dress in silk shantung or flatfaced satin for the BMs??

A bridal consultant told me that taffeta is not a good choice for Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. She actually showed me a taffeta dress, rubbed it together for a little bit, and showed me the result – wrinkles and lines! She says that those lines will stay there once you …say sit in a limo…or whatever. Unless you have a steamer, the girls might have wrinkled dresses all night!

My dress is silk taffeta as well, and I was consfused on what to get the brides maids too… then I just decided it really doesn’t matter. I never looked twice at the materials of bridesmaids dresses at the weddings I have been to in the past. But I definitely think that if the materials match it will be fine. Its not like they will be wearing the same colors. I’m sure no matter what they wear everyone will look beautiful!! Who cares if they get a little wrinkled, the day is not about them- its about you!! I say don’t worry about it 🙂

I am in taffeta and so are my bridesmaids. I liked the cohesive look of the same fabric type (but not nearly the same shade). I thought me in taffeta and them in chiffon would look very odd together, but that is just me.
