@peachacid:  Ann Taylor and J. Crew often have sales and are very good quality.

What color/styles are you looking for?

Do you have a lot of different sizes in your bridal party?

Is your wedding formal or casual?

I would also look the non-BM dress route.

Get creative! There are TONS of beautiful dresses at Macy’s, Nordstroms, etc all very good quality without the wedding label so they are bound to be more budget-friendly.

My girls are wearing convertible dresses by http://www.henkaa.com/

With shipping costs from Canada to the US they ended up being about $138 and change but no alteration costs because they’re a one size fits all. They have plus size versions of the dress too. Available in long or short =) nice variety of colors. My girls will be in short charcoal gray dresses.

And, these are totally wearable again in my opinion. You can wear them to a nice event or dress them down too. I’m planning on buying a black one eventually — perfect little black dress lol. Endless ways to wear it.

@peachacid:  awwwe honey! Its sort of a blessing that they don’t mind what style. Haven’t you seen the nightmare-esque episodes on SYTTD bridesmaids?! Too many opinions makes things go in a billion different directions.

This way, YOU get to focus on the feel and look of your girls.

What is it you want?

I LOVE cocktail length dresses and I actually think they are very chic so not at all age-inappropriate for 30 yr olds… ESP when you get to show off your sexy shoes!

Go with what you’d like!

You have to find that and the feel you want for the wedding and then go forward.

If you don’t mind the dresses not looking “bridesmaid-y” you could check out Modcloth.com or etsy! I got my BMs dresses via etsy (these ones…we love them!) and they are $155 each.

Also, the salespeople at Nordstrom’s by me are SO helpful–try a shopping trip there with your girls!

Like the other poster said, they don’t have to give input! Pick what YOU like as long as it’s reasonably priced. I recently wore a dress that was really unflattering on me and didn’t say anything to the bride — I knew it was what she wanted, so I did it cheerfully!

I can’t figure out how to save pictures from Modcloth, but here are some dresses you might want to look at!

Not sure how you feel about ordering dresses online but I’m thinking of ordering from http://www.bridal-buy.com

I found this one on their website that looks very similar to the J crew one you posted-

And this dress I think could be another option as well-

I’ve never ordered from here, but they have a huge selection of dresses that can be made in the color you want. Since they all live in different areas I think this could be a great option since they can order with specific measurements.

I found my bridesmaids dresses at Cache(which was not even on my list of store to go to)! I know it’s kind of an old lady store, but they surprisingly have very young, hip, sexy dresses! They had a sale on this one dress, which was 50% off, and I opened a credit card which gave me an additional 10% off! The total came out to be $78 including taxes. I just saw the same dress selling at Nordstrom at full price. I totally lucked out. I’m so glad dress shopping is over, because my bridesmaids were driving me nuts with finding the right dress that fits everyone’s body type.
