My two matrons of honor (best friend and sister-in-law-to-be) are two completely different body types. My best friend has an hourglass figure while my SILTB is more….barrell shaped (her words, not mine!!). Any ideas for what style dress would work for both of them? To make matters worse/more entertaining, they both would wear a burlap sack if I asked them to, but I don’t want them to wear something that they’ll hate or feel self-concious in. I really like the simple a-line tea length styles at David’s Bridal, but I’d like them both to be comfortable….if they’re happy I’m happy….HELP!!!

What if they both wear different dresses to fit their different body types…in the same color?

I suggested that, and both say "you’re the bride you decide"….argh!

If you have not already done so, I would spend a day with them trying on dresses and then deciding on a style (or two) that work. I had a lot of dresses in mind prior to having them actually trying any on and none of them worked. My sister, who is otherwise petite, has an extremly large chest (Double F) so we had to find a dress that flattered all three and kept the girls in place! Until you start seeing them in some dresses it will be hard to know what will work best.

Maybe try picking a designer (like Dessy or After six for examples) then pick a color – then give your MOH’s guide lines (for length, material etc..) and let them choose. (by choosing one designer and color, the color should be the same in both dresses – depending on material)
That way your making the important choices and letting them choose the cut that they feel the best in. At least you’ll know they like what they chose and not just being polite since its your wedding.
