I’m a Kentucky bee, too … who sadly just relocated to Las Vegas in December, but am getting married in Lexington next month. πŸ™

I have 6 bridesmaids and 1 bridesman. I am giving the girls the following things. I’m definitely going overboard, but one is flying in from Denmark, 3 from the west coast, and 2 are driving from Ohio…

*Strand Bookstore Kate Spade tote – ttp://www.strandbooks.com/strand-totes/tote-bag-kate-spade-strand-books

*Old Navy flip flops in navy with a gold/navy ribbon for dancing.

    *Navy pearl earrings

*Personalized champagne glass for mimosas on the wedding morning (tutorial here: http://somethingturquoise.com/2011/10/21/diy-glam-champagne-glasses/)

*Personalized wire hangers (this Etsy shop currently has a great deal but be warned, turnaround is long: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/133046400?ref=fb2_tnx_title

*Handwritten note for each on cardstock

*One Firebird lipbalm each (they’re all chapstick nuts! link here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/FirebirdBathBody?section_id=5967821)

    *One bottle of Diet Ale-8

    *Small box of bourbon balls

@kelseyandDj912:  I made those wine glasses. They weren’t too hard and were even cuter in person! I made 12 of them with dollar store wine glasses and plan on making more. I’m going to make enough for everyone at our rehearsal dinner. We’re having a BBQ at our house and thought that would be cute.

I don’t think it’s too much, but you may want to try making one of each of the things so you can get an idea of how long it will take/how hard it it.

I love the flip flops, and you can’t go wrong with $1! πŸ™‚

I did a bag full of goodies for my BM’s and it took me almost a year to compile and complete. But, as PP’s said you don’t have anything that’s just a nice gift for them. Non wedding stuff – I made my girls jewelry rolls, and I got them customized necklaces for the wedding but everyone wears them and still uses the jewelry rolls

I like your whole set up! Though, I’m not a huge fan of the wine glasses, and realistically they’ll only use the hanger to store the dress. (or not!). If you wanted an extra thing, a necklace or bracelet to wear on the wedding day is always nice.  πŸ™‚

I gave my girls a black tote, a knitted scarf (since it was Fall) and a Pashmina to wear for the wedding if it was chilly out, a bracelet for the wedding day and I gave my Maid/Matron of Honor a watch.  πŸ™‚

I would LOVE everything you have planned, it all goes really well together.

I just wanted to suggest that whatever you do for the girls, you should somewhat match for the guys.

Personal experience, DH was in his brothers wedding and got a beer mug, while the bridesmaids got Coach bags, pashminas, their jewelry and shoes.  I thought it was a bit of a slight, but I have issues with SIL, so maybe it was just me.

@kelseyandDj912:  I really love all your stuff. To me, the tote bag alone is fine! I’ve been in several weddings where all I got was a thank you note, so I don’t think you need to go crazy.

I love those wine glasses! My friend’s sister made him some for his birthday and they are fun to have when he has parties. That said- having just one would be a little weird. The only reason to have them is so people can write their names on them and not lose their glass. So it’s great if you’re planning to use them for getting ready, but doesn’t make sense if you’re just giving them so they can have them at home, ya know?

@kelseyandDj912: I like the ideas, they are a good start. I personally think you should add some items, the gifts are a little light in my opinion. Bridesmaids do so much (and spend so much money) on being in the wedding party. I think a very nice gift is good manners, to properly thank them.

I’m doing something similar, so maybe I’m biased. I’m doing those totes, hopefully some foldable flats, lipbalm in their favorite flavors, and initial necklaces with a stone in each girl’s favorite color, and a painted hanger to put their dresses on.

I know it’s late but I did the exact same thing at my wedding. Jazzed up the flip flops and then added some must-have goodies for the wedding day! I also ordered Bridesmaid blinged out t-shirts for them to change into at the reception when I changed out of my dress.

But I also included some practical items too:

    -Bling Bracelet (Saveology.com find)
    -deodorant (Dollar Tree)
    -chap stick (Dollar Tree)
    -Wisp disposable toothbrush/mouthwash (Dollar Tree)
    -tissues (Dollar Tree)
    -hand sanitizer (Dollar Tree)
    -lotion (Dollar Tree)
    -Mani-Pedi nail kit (Michaels)

P.S. to my knowledge no one ever re-used the bag, but the flip flops got lots of use, even after the bling fell off. So did the bracelets and toiletries. Ironically, almost all of them still wear their t-shirts, but mostly because they said they were so soft and comfortable. They sleep in them πŸ™‚ And the bling hasn’t fallen off

    @julies1949:  I agree.

A bracelet? Earrings? Pearls? Something with their birthstone? Any jewellery really.

I agree that there should be something for them in there.

@kelseyandDj912:  sounds perfect! I love the tote idea. πŸ™‚ People are very torn about the whole gift idea. I am giving mine jewelry to wear on the wedding day, but i picked out something i thought they would like and could be worn again. Is it for my wedding day – sure. But is that the sole intention – of course not!
