Hello! So I’m at the point in my planning where I need to get serious and start purchasing bridesmaid gifts, but choosing what to buy is harder than I thought it would be. I have six bridesmaids and two jr. bridesmaids. I love my girls and want to show them how much I appreciate them being there for me, so of course I want to get them something really nice, but wow everything x 8 is really expensive! I’m considering getting the two jr. bridesmaids (my twin 14 yr. old nieces) something different than the others to help with the costs, but I would still want their gifts to be nice. Ideally I would also like to get a little something for my two flower girls and my ring bearer, and of course then there is our parents gifts! All together it’s a little overwhelming. 🙂 So, jw how much is everyone spending on their bridesmaids gifts, and what are you giving them? If anyone is also buying jr. bridesmaids gifts I would love to hear your ideas. Thanks!

I also have 6 BMs and I got them these Vera Bradley totes (from oulet mall) that I’m going to fill with Bath & Body lotions, body wash, etc and some Victoria Secret lip gloss & perfume. They’re all 16-23 so I think that makes a difference. Ages could vary on what types of gifts they’d like.

I went on overstock and got sterling silver rings that look like a tied knot for $15/ring (I’m getting them a bunch of other stuff too because they spent a lot of money to travel to my destination) but the rings alone are adorable. I got wooden boxes at ac moore for a dollar and I am painting them and typing a note for inside the box that says “thank you for helping me tie the knot”. $16/bridesmaid you just need ring sizes. I sent a text to all and asked them their shirt, shoe, ring, and sweatpants sizes so they dont know what I got and in case I saw something else. I also bought all their shoes. Hope this helps 🙂

I got all of them robes with their initials. I also got everyone a makeup bag and stuffed them with VS gift cards, makeup remover wipes, EOS lip balm, and a few other things. I then got them individual gifts….mostly gift cards to their favorite stores for $75-100 each. I ordered custom cards and gift bags from Etsy.
I had 6 bridesmaids. I spent $150-200 each
I had one ring bearer and I got him a DS game bc he was 7 and loves his DS!
no junior bridesmaids but 2 flower girls: they love Disney so I got them some Disney stuff from Toys R Us. I think I spent about $40 on each of them.

I have 7 bridesmaids. I think I’m spending around $75 on each (probably more with tax and shipping etc). I am ordering super cute monogrammed tote bags from etsy ($25 ea), I got them each a pretty chevron infinity scarf in different colors ($5ish sale on Jane.com) and I bought them each a pearl earrings/necklace set that I ordred from Overstock on black friday ($40 ea). I’m also planning to etch each of their initials (or at least first initials) onto a champagne glass for us to drink mimosas from while we get ready!

I have 4 bridesmaids and a bridesman (who is getting different gifts obviously) and so far I have gotten them cute, individualized makeup bags from Etsy in a style different for each one and nice dangly Swarovski Crystal earrings to wear for the wedding. I am also going to get nice chocolates from a local store to the wedding (a regional thing) and some nice lipgloss, probably Mac.

- Wedding: May 2014 - Smithfield Center
I tried to think practical but cute when it came to getting my bridesmaids their gifts. I found a set of 4 chevron makeup bags with initials on Etsy for $46 for all 4, $13 set of earrings and neckace from Amazon, a pack of 6 Nivea lip balms for $10 on Amazon, and a set of 4 Disney Wizard of Oz (our wedding is Disney themed) nail polish for aroundd $15 and I’m giving them each one nail polish from the pack. I’m also probably going to get them each a small gift card to VS as well.

MrsN14: beautiful bags, but skip the bath and body works stuff- no one likes that stuff as a gift. Either get a nicer brand, or skip it all together. See my recent thread on bag gifts for confirmation and ither suggestions.

The industry has really convinced women that they must buy matching gifts and I have never understood this. I think it happens so often “because it is supposed to be that way.”
Why not shop for each person individually like it is their birthday and buy them something personal and geared towards that person’s likes/hobbies/interests, instead of matching bags, robes, and jewlery?
Dear Daughter is getting married in a couple of months and lamented about this. She has gotten identical gifts to other BM’s everytime she has been in a wedding. She has always been grateful for the thought and sentiment, but the gifts she has received aren’t any kind of jewelry, robe, or other thing she would use again. Shop for each girl individually!

hermom: I do like the idea of personalized gifts for each girl, hopefully I can pull it off so that all the gifts appear “even”. I would hate one girl to feel like I gave them a lame gift and another a great one! I do love the concept though.

june004: I felt the same way when it comes to individualizing gifts. what is your budget? I also have a lot of bridesmaids.. i have nine. I’ve gotten them havaiana flip flops, a sterling silver love knot necklace, and I plan on adding maybe sheer blonde/brilliant brunette shampoo and conditioner (depending on their hair color) since its my favorite. and a wedding day survival kit (advil, band-aids, etc). all in all it will come to about 65 per girl.

This is what I got my girls – the only thing missing from this photo is a cute journal I found on modcloth for one and a pug scarf (also from modcloth) for the other. Modcloth has lots of cute gifts! I guess I was lucky I only had two to buy for but I got them:
– the blue robe (pink is mine)
– hessian tote bag
– pashmina wrap
– jewellery for the wedding
– candle and body bar
– journal (MOH) and pug scarf (BM)

I spent around 80. I got them monogram travel toillettries bag from david’s bridal online, and I filled it up with all sorts of things I knew each of them loved from Ulta and Lush. I really wanted to avoid jewlery because it seems like a gift for the wedding, which is really not a gift for them. Instead I focused on relaxion (products they could use when the kick back their feet the next day after all that dancing)
