Hi all! I am struggling trying to think of gifts for my bridesmaids that they will actually enjoy, while also not spending a fortune. So what are some of the best gifts you have received as a bridesmaid? Or if you are the bride, what are you getting your bridesmaids? Thanks in advance!

So, I like when the gifts are NOT generic. Mass produced items or gifts that are the exact same for each girl is not my fave, because it’s not being chosen with the bridesmaids in mind, but more, “Oh, I like this, let me get it for everyone.” I treated my gifts like I was buying for their birthdays, so everyone got a variety of things. The only things we doubled up on were the getting ready robes (but I let all the girls pick their own fabric) and Tervis Tumblers (and these were different designs I selected with the girls in mind).
I’m gonna sound like a total dick, but I haven’t really been given anything that I absolutely loved. Everything has kind of erred on the side of generic or “everyone gets the same.” The only items that I’ve worn post-wedding were pearl bracelets (which were intended to be worn on the day of), but I happen to love pearls, so it was just a happy coincidence.

Not a gift I received, but I gave all my girls Kate Spade wristlets and they seriously loved them. They all still rave about the gift and I see them using them still all the time. I actually wish I had bought one for myself.
I think, for me, the key is to gift something that isn’t wedding-related (so I wouldn’t really care for earrings that match the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress I’m probably never wearing again) and nothing that is monogrammed or says the word “Bridesmaid” on it.
ETA: I wanted to add that the wristlets I gave my BMs were all different and not done to match or go with any aspect of my wedding. Also, knowing my girls, I knew that that was something they’d all be able to use and appreciate.

Just shop like you would for a birthday or other holiday. What do they actually like and want in their lives?
I was a bridesmaid once and given a clutch to match my dress. Complete waste of money. Alternatively I chose to just purchase items they’d otherwise have to buy themselves, thus allowing them to spend their own money as they wanted to. Some other brides think what I did does not qualify as a gift b/c it was “for the wedding”, but if I could have saved 120 bucks for my best friend’s wedding, I’d be a lot happier than I was with a stupid purple clutch and 120 in the hole (or whatever it cost).

I got my bridesmaids small round Tiffany monogram pendant necklaces, with the respective bridesmaid’s first initial on it. It was $75 for the pendant and $50 for the chain.
I know they like them because I see them wearing it out and about and in some Facebook photos that have nothing to do with me.

I was on a serious budget so I ended up printing an old picture of me and the Bridesmaid or Best Man and writing a heartfelt card and putting the picture in there.
Also, for the two girls I knew wanted their hair done professionally but couldn’t afford it I paid for it.

- Wedding: September 2017 - Poppy Ridge Golf Course
Keep their individual interests in mind and you’ll be fine. I treated them to a wine tasting tour and lunch. All of them are wine lovers, me not so much but we all had a fabulous time. If they didn’t have a common interest I would have gotten them different gifts to suit every taste.

My sister gave cute tote bags to all of us with our initial on it. I use it every day to bring my lunch to work. It’s super cute!

- Wedding: July 2017 - State Park
Small LL Bean tote bag with a 3 month birchbox subscription plus a “survival kit” with chapstick, hand sanitizer, advil, gatorade. I use the tote bag all the time (lunch box!) and 4 years later I’m still a birchbox subscriber!

- Wedding: October 2019 - Chateau Lake Louise
I am buying the dresses, paying for hair & makeup, and getting them an airbnb for the week since it’s a Destination Wedding and I don’t want them to have to spend a ton of money to attend. I also bought us all matching shoes; ceremony and then sparkly flippies for after.
That being said, I think either getting them a peice of jewelry they might like (birthstone bracelet/earrings) or something that has nothing to do with the wedding, but something you think they’d like personally. When it comes to gifts, I tend to give people things that lets us have an experience together; so maybe a DVD and a bag of popcorn and bottle if wine with the promise of a ladydate.
