I got mine purse pocket dividers and stuffed them with emergency supplies – sewing kit, safety pins, nail file, clear nail polish, nail polish remover pad, mini packs Tylenol, Tums, Shout, mini folding hairbrush, bobby pins, hair ties, gum, mints, mini wisp toothbrushes, makeup wipes, sheet masks, and a couple things I’m sure I’m forgetting. I also had a folding fan, silk robe, small Korean pouch with amethyst bracelet. I also wrote each one a heartfelt letter and dug out and printed really old pictures of me with each one. For my old high school and college friends I think that was their favorite part. Our flowers got delivered late so we ended uop taking some of our bridal party pictures with the fans which had never been a plan.

I came up with that a couple of years ago when I was still single. I firmly think long-term friendships with women deserve the same kind of nurturing as any romantic bond. So, me and my besties have ladydates! I even trained my phone to recognize this as a real word 😉

All of the jewelry that I’ve gotten for weddings has been cute and something I can wear again for the most part. Maybe I’m lucky? The last wedding I received a clutch and a tote. Both are black, so I’m pretty sure I’ll be using them again. For one wedding the bride paid for our hair and make up, which I thought was very generous (and much appreciated).

I’ve never gotten a bridesmaid gift that I’ve ever used on a regular basis. I did get a thirty one tote bag that I used for a trip one time because it was the only bag I could find with a zipper, but it’s not a color or pattern I would ever consider buying myself (ivory and tan with my name in green…).
I’ve gotten some jewelry as gifts, but it’s always been things that are so far from my taste (yellow gold and very obviously fake pearls. I’m not even a fan of real pearls.). I wore it for the wedding to be polite, and then never again.
I’m getting them a tote bag (probably just something cheap, mostly just to hold everything together), wine/liquor of their choice, a bag of snacks and drinks for the hotel, a gift card (sephora, starbucks, or ulta depending on which they like), a makeup bag (different depending on what they like), mini emergency kit from David’s Bridal (maybe not that exact one, but the same kind of thing), flats for dancing (we decided as a group which style, they’re picking which color they would like), a nail kit (polish based on the girl, lotions, cuticle oil, file, buffer) and I’m also taking them shopping for their jewelry. I had planned on getting these beautiful jewelry boxes from The Knot, but they went out of stock and now they say “coming soon” on the website, so I’m trying to think of something to do instead of that. I may take them to get their nails done/give a gift certificate to get them done another time.

I have always liked the jewelry I received, I know a lot of bees are down on it, but I have never recieved a piece I did not enjoy.
Paying for my dress, when my ex sister in law got married my ex mother in law paid for my dress, it was very helpful as my ex and I were planning our wedding at the time and had just bought a house.
Paying to have my nails done for the wedding, if you want this, it is only fair AND I love to be pampered.
Also, once I received a bottle of Jose, which was great! It is more a traditional groomsmen gift I know, but when a cousin got married, myself and another cousin were the only bridesmaids and we both enjoyed our bottles of Tequila very much.
I do not know what I will get mine, they are my daughters, so I pretty much am paying for everything for them for the wedding, but I will also get them some piece of personal jewelry and maybe a small gift suitable for them. The first time I was married I bought my girls intial necklaces.

I personally have liked consumable gifts. Wine or any other kind of liquor is always a hit. I’ve also liked things that helped curb my expenses for the wedding. One can always assume that you will be spending a pretty penny to be a bridesmaid, but when things like hair and makeup were included as part of my gift I’ve been so happy with that. I know people on here say that gifts should be outside the wedding, but obviously paying for professional hair and/or makeup isn’t cheap, especially when you pay for everyone. I’m always happy when I get to have my hair done by someone else and not on my dime!

I gave my bridesmaids homemade emergency kits—my mother sewed the pouches from cloth, and we stuffed them with individual packets of ibuprofen, Q-tips, face wipes, chapstick, etc. I also got each girl a necklace I picked out for them individually (so not something they HAD to wear with their dress).
Personally, I received a really nice tote, heavy duty with my initial monogrammed on it. I love it. I use it all of the time. It’s super sturdy and covered with polka dots, so very cute.

I got my girls each a wristlet clutch custom made for them. One loves dinosaurs, she got velociraptor fabric, another got skulls, and the third got doves. I still see them in use, so I hope they liked them lol. Plus then gormet chocolates.
I think what they might have appreciated most was that we covered their hotel costs for the night before the wedding.
I have received jewelry for weddings before. Not a good idea in my opinion. It’s a very personal taste item, and it’s never been something I’d ever wear again.

My cousin bought our dresses and that was the best gift I’ve ever got as a bridesmaid lol. As someone trying to save for her own wedding, it was a huge help to not have to pay that cost.
She also got us all bracelets for the day of the wedding that were similiar in style, but each one was different and suited our personalities. It was a very simple bracelet and I still wear it when I go out!

One of the things I got my SIL was a really cute coach makeup bag, and I saw she was still using it like 4 years later lol. So I guess that was a good one!
