Don’t let her order a size up. As long as she isn’t getting some massive tatas, she should get the proper size for her waist and hips. The breast implants will just fill out the top more for her. I have implants, and they don’t change your dress size on top. It’s because the implant is just for the breast and doesn’t have any effect on the surrounding tissue. The breast tissue on women with naturally large breasts is spread out, so their breasts affect their whole chest. Implants do not do that. My implants fill out the cups of my dresses and I don’t have a dress that wouldn’t zip after. I went from a 32AA to a 32D. And lipo won’t really change her size much either. It’s just going to contour her body to change her sillouhette a little so she feels better about herself.

MrsPhishBee:  I’ve already got my wedding dress, in my house, and I get married next July.

I’m getting my boobs done on Friday. The salesperson told me I have a 6 inch leeway in the bust (3″ each seam), so I ordered my size. My bust is ridiculously small though, and I’m sure I’ll just fill the dress out, since I do not at all right now.

Not too worried about it, and not expecting issues.

WHERE she gets lipo done will determine whether her size will drastically change. If you’re going with the flowy chiffon BL dresses hip measurements really don’t matter, but bust and waist definitely do. Fuller breasts will definitely impact the size of the dress unless you change your mind and go with a club-worthy bodycon dress. If the fabric is pulling at the bust it will be more difficult if not impossible to zip up, especially on the one shoulder or very low cut strapless styles.

when i had breast implants i never needs to buy anything new except bras.  everything still fit, it just fit better.  so unless shes going for some insane huge implants, just have her buy what fits her now, and be concious of the fit on her breasts.

Contact the online boutique and ask if Bridesmaid or Best Man can put down a deposit, and have the option to rush order her  dress.  In reality, many places don’t require a full six months and there are plenty of exceptions to the rule for places that do.

MrsPhishBee:  why can’t you order the dresses in June? My bridesmaids ordered their dresses in May for my September 2nd wedding and they came at the beginning of June. It was more than enough time. They were by Bari Jay. That seems like the simple and smart thing to do in my opinion….

Or order in May. Bari Jay also said 3 months but it took one month for all six dresses and their alterations took about a week. I think one girl’s alterations took 2 weeks.

MrsPhishBee:  One of my bridesmaids had breast implants 2 months before my wedding and we chose the dresses prior to her surgery. Ironically, we had Bill Levkoff dresses, too! She ordered her regular size and there was no problem with fit from when she ordered to after the surgery. What style is your bridesmaid wearing?

MrsPhishBee:  I guess it’s different for everyone judging by some of these responses, but I have implants (32DD) and always order dresses to fit/cover my bust (dress size 6-8) and have them altered down because the rest of me is so much tinier in comparison (size 00). If I order a dress to fit me in the waist, I either can’t zip it up around the bust, or I can and I’m busting out in a not-so-classy way. I usually order dresses in a size 6-8 or so and have them tailored down to perfection just to be safe. So if it were me that’s what I would do, but I’m told not everyone is as disproportionate as I am.

Maybe it’s a question of whether her implants will just make her fill out the bust size she would otherwise wear to fit the rest of her body, or if the implants will make her boobs bigger than the bust her true dress size is typically designed to accommodate?

By 2 months, the swelling will be down. But they will be so perky and a little unnaturally high at that point. She won’t be needing any form of push up, that’s for sure! It took mine about 6 months to “drop” if that makes any sense.
