Has anyone done them?
i’m an okay writer, but I’m sure writing 4 of them is going to take some serious creativity, that I’m not sure I have in me. Is there a formula that I could follow on the Internet or something? I couldn’t find anything when I did a quick search, but maybe someone can help me out!

@alysee: Do you mean a letter to ask them to be bridesmaids, or to thank them for being bridesmaids?

@alysee: Ugh. That makes two of us 😛 I drafted up a letter to one of my bridesmaids… however it was very late at night and I think I’d had a glass of wine or two so when I read it the next day I ended up scrapping it!!! I didn’t realise I was such a sap 😛 Haha.
I’ll have to try again, though. I’m thinking of just starting with whatever comes to mind – thanking them for everything they’ve done for me (not just as bridesmaids, but in our whole relationship), any particular funny memories/in-jokes we might have shared in our lives together, things about them that inspire me or that I love about them…
Sigh. It’s hard; you can’t really do a ‘copy/paste’ with this one. As cheesy as it sounds, it needs to come from the heart.
Three of my bridesmaids will be my sisters-in-law, so I will probably have some mention of their brother, my fiance, as well.

@alysee:
I don’t think you need to write 3 pages full of stuff.
write something that comes from the heart & you’ll be all set 🙂
How about this formula:
– Is there a situation you can describe in which she helped you with? (i am so thankful for you on helping me with all the paper flowers we glued together. it was so much fun to do an afternoon crafting… )
– is there acharacter trait you really love in her? (… your generosity is amazing… i am so glad to have a friend like you who always…)
– is there something you look forward to doing with her together in the future? (… i am looking forward to all the upcoming adventures… to our spa trip in July…)

@ksus07:Â I know, Â just really wish there were a formula. I’m such a sap, that I’m also afraid, I’ll be balling during each one. You reminded me though to not drink wine while writing them! Lol

I’m thinking something maybe this a good formula.
1) thank them for being a friend
2) thank them for being there today, and what they helped with in the planning of the wedding.
3) Funny memory
4) Nice Character Trait
5) something I look forward to doing with them In the future.
Yay or nay?

@alysee: Haha. Well if you end up coaxing out tears at their end, you’ll know you wrote a damn good letter – that’s my goal with these 😛 Muahahaha!

@alysee: I think that’s a good formula.
