Could she order another one or you can try to find a similar dress If you post a picture of the dress We could probably find something pretty close!

Oh this is a very tough situation…It looks like my girls aren’t going to match because one neglected to buy her dress, and I am really upset about it. But if you really want her to be a part of it, if she is important to you, you should try to make it work.

@GREGORR2: Oh man…i just saw your post. 26 is hard…you’re going to have a really difficult time finding anything. Maybe some bees have some good plus size sites.

I think you should talk to the bridesmaid, who must be mortified, and don’t assume she lied right off; sizes can differ pretty significantly from designer to designer. (As any woman who’s ever tried on jeans can tell you! 🙂

The dress itself doesn’t look very complicated. If you can’t find something matching in a size that fits, maybe you can find matching fabric and have one (or one very similar) made.

ETA: I like the second dress you posted.

What about torrid? If you had her stand in the middle and had a grooms man with a different boutenniere to match her dress it migth add visual interest??? idk…I’m running into the size issue too.

Its true that it might not be the BMs fault. I waer a 26 pants at one store and a 7 at another store(Fashion Bug,they confuse me). Anyway I ended up fitting into a 20 size wedding dress!! Thats y its a good idea to send measurements to the company just in case!

Oh gosh, don’t kick her out of your bridal party!!  That would be cruel.  It’s way more important to have the people you love the most than to have them all be wearing the same dress.

I totally get your frustration, but she must be feeling even worse about it than you are.  Get a dress that’s as close as you can, or go in a different direction altogether so that she coordinates but doesn’t match. Either way, it will look fine, and you won’t have hurt a person you care about and damaged your relationship with her.

I would tell her to take care of it. If it’s not the same dress, then she can’t stand up there. I had this happen with the Groomsmen and I told them to take care of it or sit down. They took care of it. The material was a little off… but close enough that I wasn’t freaking out. Though, suits are different than dresses, so I hope it all works out!

As a Plus size woman myself I wouldn’t just assume she lied about her size. Can you imagine how she must feel having to try to feel comfortable fitting into a dress that everyone else is going to be wearing when you are plus sized? Esp if you just had them give you a size and then ordered them…it’s not that easy for someone bigger.

I’d help her and try to be sensitive to her.

ETA Also try Alfred Angelo…they are amazing with plus sized woman and make beautiful dresses.

Honestly, its very  hard to be a Plus size bride, bridesmaid..Woman.. . I am a plus size bride and I have plus size bridesmaids and I’m trying to take into account how they’ll feel in the dress as well as the skinner bridesmaids.. If you look at davids bridal Or alfred angelo, they have really nice dresses.. Some of Alfred Angelo’s dresses go up to a 30.. She may not have intentionally lied about her size.. and remember that everything sizes differently everywhere you go.. I hope you’re able to help her out.
