bubblez59 :  If you expect them to wear the earrings for your wedding, I wouldn’t consider either of those a gift. Anything you expect them to wear or use for your wedding is really more for your pics.

Take a minute to think of each individual’s taste/interest/hobbies. Choose a gift for each with those in mind. You don’t have to buy them all the same thing.

I am getting my BMs mini Coach travel sized jewelry boxes/pouches. I’ll also be giving them a bracelet and earrings to wear the day of, so I figured a nice leather travel pouch might be a nice way to present it. The jewelry I would want them to wear the day of, but the pouches are meant to be used later since they all travel a lot.

I’m not doing custom gifts for each person. I also think it’s fine to gift something for them to wear the day of and still count it as a “gift” so long as it’s something elegant and reusable, not matching specifically to the dress or anything.

bubblez59 :  I shopped for them individually like I would for their birthday. To me it is lazy and thoughtless to gift them all the same thing since a gift is supposed to be about the person receiving the gift and not the giver.

Anything to be used for/at the wedding is not a gift to them but a gift to yourself.

Don’t think of It as a “bridesmaid gift”.  They are only a bridesmaid for approximately 8 hours of their life.  This is a thank you gift for a friend for taking time and money to be your bridesmaid.  So how would you thank your friend the other 364 days of the year for anything nice they do for you?  Think about them and what they like (and don’t think about what you like for your wedding) and then get them that.

bubblez59 :  I got my both Maid/Matron of Honor and bridesmaid a pashmina and a Kate Spade sailor knot bracelet, which they can wear for the wedding if they so choose.  In addition, I got my Maid/Matron of Honor a giftcard to Sephora and a picture frame and my bridesmaid a pair of Kate Spade earrings.  I also go my two readers the Kate Spade knot bracelet, as a thank you to be given at the rehearsal dinner.

I’m gifting a 6.5mm freshwater pearl strand and matching stud earrings. My Maid/Matron of Honor loves pearls and how classic they look but has never owned a set that wasn’t costume jewelry. My bridesmaid is my daughter and it will be her first grown up jewelry. The can choose whether they wear them day of the wedding. I don’t care either way. I’m paying all the wedding expenses for my MOH and obviously for my daughter as well.

I tried to keep costs down for my bridesmaids on the front end so that there’s just less expenditures overall. I picked a color and length of dress that is pretty rewearable and let them pick the dresses — most have spent less than $50. They can wear black flats or heels that they already own. I’m paying for hair and makeup.

So for the gift itself I’ll probably get them chocolate from a popular chocolatier that is local to the wedding. I’m pretty sure they don’t want non-eatable items as most of them move on average once a year, so chocolate seemed like the way to go.

I bought them all shoes. 🙂 Not the ones they wore to the wedding. Just really cute boots/booties that I thought would fit their style.
