NO ONE remembers or pays attention to the Bridesmaid or Best Man shoes and I think this makes you a thoughtful bride!

Calijcab23:  This is what I’m doing, but my bridesmaids are in long gowns so they problaby won’t be seen. But they each decided on a different silver sparkly pair, and mine are silver and sparkly too, so I thought they’d look cute in pictures. The girls also appreciated that they could pick a shoe they felt comfortable in and the right heel height for them. And they’d probably wear them again because they picked them out

I think that’s normal. I can’t imagine asking people to buy a dress and shoes just for your wedding.

yeah I just told the girls to pick nude or peach shoes, the gowns are long so it doesn’t matter really. I have never noticed or remembered what shoes bridesmaids were wearing at a wedding

I’ve never been asked to wear matching shoes – even with short dresses.  I think this is completely normal to ask for a certain color / style though!  It looks good and your bridesmaids will be comfy because they’ll pick shoes that work for them!

I have both done this as a bridesmaid in a wedding and am doing it for my own wedding. The wedding I stood up in we had short dresses and wore any style of silver shoe and it worked out just fine. Like a PP said, no one notices the bridesmaids shoes and it’s more considerate than dictating more mandatory costs for your Bridesmaid or Best Man. You could even ask them to pick them out and show them to you first for approval if you’re worried.

Calijcab23:  It worked for me- I asked my girls to wear gold shoes, and they all found pairs they loved and could afford.

I am doing this same thing and my Bridesmaid or Best Man are loving the idea. Even with short dresses this will still be nice. I went with a nude shade of shoe, which better matches the dress color. Not to mention, most ladies have a nude pair of heels or will at least wear them again.

How many weddings have you gone to where you remember what shoes the Bridesmaid or Best Man wore? This is my question for every purchase of my wedding.

I did the same thing, we had long dresses – but honestly, as long as no one is wearing black shoes while the other girls wear silver…no one will even notice!

It seems like shoes go entirely unnoticed UNLESS one person’s is out of place or they’re a crazy color.  But no one notices “wow, the bridesmaids are wearing silver shoes BUT OMG they’re not the same!”

I’m planning on my BMs wearing the same color, whatever style.  Probably a nude shoe because they might own them already, they go with everything, and they won’t stick out in photos or overpower a dress.  Right now I just have two Maid/Matron of Honor actually, and they’re both short, so it doesn’t matter to me if they wear heels or flats.

Do it. The less you worry about, the better!
