My friend is getting married in ONE MONTH! Ahh. It’s kind of been strange as most of the maids are long distance and I feel like they’ve been a little out of touch – even the Maid/Matron of Honor. She did well with the shower and the bachelorette party, but I don’t feel like my bride is feeling the love from everyone.
Regardless, I want to make sure her day is really special (obviously). It’s a country wedding in Colorado in mid-September. Now that we are a month away she is starting to lose steam and get a little stressed out. Overwhelmed, etc. I’m heading to her house on Saturday armed and ready to tackle a few Pinterest projects she pinned (Ring for a Kiss cowbell and I’m DIYing her turquoise and coral headpiece). I also mentioned we should sit down and map out what is left to be done and see how we can knock it out of the park – which seemed to relieve her a bit.
So in addition to helping with the last minute details – what little things can I do to make her days leading up to and day of really sweet and special? I bought her a custom garter with her/groom name and the date embroidered, I made custom handkerchiefs for the maids and a coordinating one for her to use during the ceremony, and I’m compiling an emergency bridal bag. I’ll be doing hair and makeup and basically picking up the slack for the Maid/Matron of Honor (she’s not super experienced but then neither am I).
Anyway, tell me what your maid did for you or you did for your bride that made an impression and got you excited for the big day!

think of something extra personal that shows you’ve been paying attention. my friend told me how jealous she was that I’d be getting the chair dance at my wedding because my husband is Jewish. So….I arranged it at her wedding even though the couple isn’t Jewish and she had a BLAST! The look of pure giddiness when she heard the song start will forever be planted in my brain 🙂

I don’t have any suggestions, but want to say that you’re a really sweet friend! The bride was smart to pick you as a ‘maid!

You are amazing!!! I wish you had been in my wedding!!!
One of my maids got me an engraved ring box with mine and my husband’s initials and we use it every day! That was really sweet. I think you have done plenty and just knowing you are there for her for any help she might need is good enough in my opinion! 🙂

You’re doing tons!!! That’s wonderful.
A friend and I took our most recent bride out for a mani-pedi the day before (we treated her and ourselves) followed by a girls dinner over champagne (and sparklers at night!) the night before.
Recommendation: If you have a camera on hand for getting ready photos, have it with you! Photographers can take weeks to get the photos back, and the bride will be itching to see some straight away.

You are amazing! This is a very refreshing thread!
I second the suggestion about some spa time. That would be amazing for a bride-to-be!
What about breakfast or lunch on the day of the wedding while everyone is getting ready?
And having a camera ready is an awesome idea too!

My moh was pregnant and from far away. I felt blessed she could be there and did not expect her to plan things ahead. I had great local maids who were amazing! They planned a Bachelorette weekend that was so relaxing. My moh walked to the store the morning g of the wedding and brought back a bottle of one of my favorite drinks…it was great and helped with my relaxation. My maids picked me up, helped with getting dress steamed, brought me breakfast and my favorite coffee. I realized how great they were!
