Does she work for a company of consultants? I might ask to speak to a supervisor. Otherwise I would gently confront her, because that was a rude thing to say to a client, but if you make your relationship with her more uncomfortable I think you’ll be very sorry to have her around.

I would call whomever she works for. That’s rude and totally uncalled for. Good luck!

I would be stressed to have that many bridesmaids, but I’ve seen it done before. Her job is to help you to plan out your day how you want it, not to criticize your decisions. She’s working for you, not the other way around. Does she work for a company so that you could be placed with another wedding planner?

I guess depending on how she worded her comment, I’m not sure what to say to you.  I hired a wedding planner BECAUSE of those little gems of advice – how else would I know?  If she was rude and actually said “horrible” I guess I understand your problem, but otherwise… like I said, the reason I have a wedding planner is to tell me when I’m screwing up.  (Not that too many bridesmaids is screwing up, but you get my point.)

I think you should probably just talk to her about it rather than going over her head, at least initially.  She shouldn’t have said that.  It’s completely rude and you’re paying her, so she should be happy to oblige whatever you want.  You’re the bride and if she thinks it won’t look good, she should just keep her mouth shut.  But, I think you’ll make the partnership with her awkward if you go above her before talking openly with her.  It’s tough, but it’s necessary.

Good luck!
