My fiancee wants to keep things simple on his part. He just wants his best man and of course I can pick a maid of honor and we can just have that. But what I I want bridesmaids? Is it mandatory for the groom to have groomsmen if the bride has bridesmaids?

Nope. You don’t have to have even sides.

Not at all! It’s your wedding and you should do what makes you comfortable. If your Fiance only wants a Bridesmaid or Best Man, then he should go with that. If you want an Maid/Matron of Honor and some BMs, then you should do that. It totally doesn’t matter if the sides are even or not!

My Fiance is only having his brother, I am having my sister, and four close friends!! I am going to make FI’s brother run back and forth down the isle for all my girls. 🙂 It will be funny!!

So I guess the fiancee will wait at the alter with his best man next to him and my maids would walk in each alone… right?

I have seen this done numerous times! I think the only way it would be weird is if you had an excessive amount of bridesmaids, like a dozen. haha. Otherwise I would totally go for it; you don’t want to include people in your wedding party that you don’t REALLY want to be there just for the sake of making things “even.”
