My friend asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding last night, and I’m SO excited!! The thing I’m worried about is that she said, ok, I need you to send your measurements to the store this week before you leave for Vacation on Saturday…
My husband and I are planning to TTC on/after our vacation… I am not currently pregnant so I dont know how many months pregnant I will be for their wedding or if I will even be pregnant at all? (The wedding is at the end of August).. I don’t really want to order this huge dress and then not be pregnant…or vice versa…and I don’t really want to talk to my friend about it just yet as I just don’t really want people to know that we are “trying” and have to deal with that everytime I dont feel like drinking or don’t feel good…
Anyway…what would you do? If you ordered the dress in a bigger size would you just order in one size up? or multiple sizes up? that seems like it would be a total mess to alter if I’m NOT pregnant…. helllp!

I think I would leave it alone for now and deal with it later if you guys are pregnant by the time of her wedding. Women’s bodies look so different when pregnant it’s hard to tell what you would look like at any time of a pregnancy.

Is the wedding the end of this August or next August (2013). If it’s the end of this August (4 months away), even if you’re pregnant your first month trying, you will not be showing too much by August. I would order, maybe, one size up and get it tailored down if you’re not or barely pregnant by then.

I’m assuming the wedding is at the end of this August. I’d just order your current size and have it let out a little if you get pregnant immediately.

If the wedding is the end of August than you wouldn’t be more than 20 weeks along at the time and that is if you got pregnant right away. I would order it one size up and plan to alter as needed to fit. WIth only only size up, they’ll be able to alter it if you aren’t pregnant, but should also have enough room to alter it to fit if you are since you won’t be that big yet.

I’m a bridesmaid in a wedding in September and had to get measured last week. I’m currently not pregnant, but we are actively TTC. I told the bridal salon that, and they only wanted me to order up 1 size that way if we aren’t pregnant yet, they won’t have to take it in THAT much.

Yeah, I guess you’re right that at 20 weeks you’re not huge.. totally freaking out about nothing.. I kind of want to order it a size too big anyway just bc I probably won’t get to try it on…and woudl rather it need to be taken in than taken out. Thanks!!
