We are considering having our bridesmaids dressed in white, I found the cutest dresses, and when I picture it in my head it looks amazing!
But, would that be weird?
I had never heard of anyone having white dresses for their bridesmaids, and It’s not a tradition in scandinavia where I live. So I googled it, and I saw that, for example Kate Middleton, Beyonce and Kim Kardashian had done this. So maybe it’s not a totally crazy thought?
I also read an article saying that back in the days it was tradition that the bridesmaids also dressed as brides, to confuse the “evil spirits”, or whatever they called them, so that if they are trying to hurt the bride they wouldn’t know which one of the girls to attack. Poor bridesmaids that were sacrificed like that.
Any way, would you think it looked wierd having bridesmaids dressed in all white? Have you even been to a wedding where they were? Does people do that?
White shoes, dresses etc. I maybe wouldn’t go for long dresses for the bridesmaids, I am willing to take the risk of beeing attacked just to get to be the only one in a long white wedding gown 🙂

I wore a white, lace dress as Maid/Matron of Honor in my best friend’s wedding. The dress was short and there was no doubt about who the bride is – she stands out in all the pictures. Go for it!

Um, have you seen Solange Knowles’ wedding pics? Definitely a do!

Went to my cousin’s wedding. All the bridesmaids had white dresses, Maid/Matron of Honor had a light pink dress(I wore the same color LOL). The bride still definitely stood out!

I have seen it in a couple weddings recently…I personally am not a fan of it because I want to be the one in white, but that’s just me.
It’s pretty, it’s just really not my thing!

I wore off white/white for my bestfriends wedding that I was a bridesmaid in I think it looks nice as long as they are a different shade to your wedding dress

I think it’d look amazing if you wore champagne or blush and the bridesmaids wore white. Now I want to divorce my husband and remarry him so I can use this idea!

Thanks for your replies ladies! 🙂
Yeah, I saved a picture earlier today of a woman wearing a very light shade of champagne/cream and she had all white dressed bridsmaids, it look stunning! It is an option, but white really is my absolutely best color. haha. arrr.

My bridesmaids are wearing ivory/cream colored dresses! I love them and I think it will look great! All of my girls think it’s weird, but I’m enthusiastic enough for all of us, lol

- Wedding: September 2005 - A Castle
I only had my sister, daughter, and niece in my second wedding…we were all in white. The little ones (daughter and niece) wore Dorothy-red shoes.
