I am getting married on September 28, 2013. I found my bridesmaid dresses on May 11th (Mother’s Day) and told the girls to have their measurements and please place the order leading up to Memorial Day Weekend (May 28th). They took longer and the order was finally placed on June 10th. The order had to be placed all at once because of the dye lot, as they would not all be made the same navy, if not.
I am three weeks up to my wedding and the dresses haven’t come in yet. They are floorlength, chiffon dresses with one shoulder and will SURELY need alterations by almost everyone because their shoes are flats. The store does not answer the phone beacuse of “summer hours” and both my Maid/Matron of Honor and I have been calling off the hook to no avail. Has anyone had this happen? I placed the order and this is week 12 of waiting. Not sure what to do in worst case scenario. Will I not have bridesmaid dresses?!?!?!?! Or will I just have to tell my girls to pay rush shipping (if that’s even an option)???

@SoInLove24: Did they say how long they expected them to take to come in? I’ve always heard 3-6 months. I doubt you could do rush shipping at this point. Hopefully they will be in soon and can alterations quickly! Can you go into the store and talk to them?

The store has summer hours only and it’s about 45 minutes away. I’ve driven out there before and it was locked and closed, so until they respond to my call, I don’t want to drive out there again. My worry is like you said… at this point, could I add rush shipping??? Eeeeeek. How stressful!

@MrsN14: I guess thinking ahead and they CAN’T add rush shipping and they DON’T come in in time, what is a girl to do?! Should I start looking now for back up plans? Even David’s Bridal takes 2-16 weeks. I have no idea what would be my next step… :/

@SoInLove24: I would go to a department store really. Maybe you could go in, find one, have your girls order them online in their size. They can always return them if best case the other dresses do come in and usually only take a week to get. It’s not the greatest option but the only one I could come up with.

@SoInLove24: It doesn’t take that long for DB dresses to come in… 6 wks at the VERY most but they typically come in 3-4 wks. 2 out of 3 of my girls purchased their dresses off the rack. So sorry you are going thru this.

@SoInLove24: i’d say something off the rack at macys or somewhere will be your backup plan.

@SoInLove24: We ordered our bridesmaid dresses on June 15ish, and were told they would be in the first week or so of September… my dresses are Social Bridesmaids by Dessy, I know each designer is different. I just spoke to the shop we ordered from and they are anticipating them to arrive by Friday.
I think it’s a little shady they aren’t answering their phones. Do you have time to stop by to see whats up?
