Hello,

My dress is Alencon Lace (ivory) from France. It is beautiful. I wanted chiffon and dupioni silk as well. I ended up not liking the look of chiffon, the colours were to flat and the dupioni is beautiful but true dupioni is very expensive and I did not want my bridesmaids to have to spend that much! I ended up going with satin in classic black. I have bridesmaids of all sizes, from a size 2 to 22. So the stykle had to be forgiving and proper for all the girls. I ended up picking Sophia Tolli BY21105 and it was so forgiving on the girls that wanted to hide tummies and any other body issues. We are having a formal wedding, so these dresses are exactly what I wanted. The back has inverted pleating which is amazing and the top is a tie up corset, so if one of them loses or gains upto 10 lbs the dress fits!

Matte Satin. Mine is not shiny. Shiny Satin is cheap! Sorry if that offends anyone!

Why not try taffeta?  I think it would make for a lovely combination.  If not that, I think the dupioni is your best bet.

You are NOT your fat self! You look STUNNING in your dress!  I love the idea of dupioni for the brdiesmaids.  Have you looked into Alfred Sung’s bridesmaid dresses?
