I have been debating a patterned dress also. I think the more i look into the more i am going for something with a little bit of texture in the fabric rather than an obvious pattern. I am also doing a beach wedding so I would love to see what you end up with, keep us posted! I included my favorite patterned dress. It is more expensive than i think i want to have the girls afford so we will see.

here is the link for the picture included

I am going with a very light pattern for my girls. I personally like the look because everyone always has solid bridesmaid dresses! I think everyone here is right, though, that you don’t want to get lost in the crowd of your wedding party because their dresses are too “loud.” I don’t like the last two pictures you uploaded for that reason alone; they are cute dresses, but the bride is not the focal point. However, the other dresses you showed have simple and light enough patterns to complement the bride. I personally think that first photo you showed is really cute; the pattern is a light color, and the dress certainly would go with the beach wedding you are having. I would stick with light pastel patterns like that.

I love the look. Since it’s a beach wedding, to help with the patterns drowning you out (I don’t think this, but others do) why not have them wear knee legnth dresses and you, a long dress. Just an idea. i love the pattern dresses and have major Bridesmaid or Best Man dress regret.

@AisforAmanda: Those dresses are so gorgeous!! I love them!

I went to a wedding last May where the BMs wore patterned dresses. There were 9 bridesmaids, and it made my head hurt to look at the obonxious pattern over and over! It either works or it doesn’t IMO.

Nine bridesmaids?! Wow. I can see where that was intense! 😛

I love the patterrns, especially for a casual beach wedding.  Just be careful not to pick a veyr loud pattern or one with more than two colors (three, tops!).
