I think it really depends on a few factors. How formal is your wedding? My wedding ended up being more formal because my gown is super fancy, so I went with long dresses, but they arent SO fancy that they look like prom.

My thinking is spring and summer, short dresses. But for Fall and Winter, long dresses.

Im having a Fall wedding and the weather can be awesome or very bad. This year October has been having great weather. But years in the past, it has rained and even snowed around the date of my wedding!!!!! My one coworker got married about 11 years ago around the time I will be getting married, Oct. 6th and she remembers a snowstorm that hit that day.

Plus my one bridesmaid does not do short dresses for anything, so I was thinking of her and of the possible sucky weather when I decided on the long dresses.

my girls are going to wear tea-length dresses.  for one thing, i want to save them some $$ on alterations…one of them is rather short and will probably still have to get her gown hemmed, but it doesn’t need to precise and her mom sews, so she can do it for her easily.  plus i’m hoping they can get more use out of them…maybe.  i’m having them in ivory, so that might not happen.  🙁

@nonapkns:  Could you possibly post a pic?  Or just let me know how it turned out.  My girls are also very short, so I am considering knee length dresses even though it is a formal wedding.  I am so torn on this issue! I need some advice.
