I just found out, 2 weeks before the wedding, that 2 of my 5 bridesmaids cannot come. One because she suddenly decided to go to Palestine and the other because she “can’t” take off grad school for 1 or 2 days. I am so depressed about it and don’t want to get into the details because I’ve explained it so many times… but I still feel alone and lost when thinking about them. Anyone else experience anything like this?

@aaatkins: I originally had a bridal party of 16 but it was reduced to 12. Two BMs had to drop out because of money issues, and 2 groomsmen were sent away on deployment.
I’m sorry this happened to you

@LuvMySailor: Thanks for your sympathy and understanding. It really means a lot to me.

That sucks. It’s flakey of your bridesmaid to plan a trip at the samE time as this commitment! Try to give the grad school bridesmaid a break though… I dunno if you have done grad studies, but some programs you really can’t take time off. I had one class where you failed if you missed more than three classes in 8 months. I wouldn’t necessarily assume that it’s a choice for her to miss your wedding.
