So, I really wanted Individual wine glasses for me and my girls. I searched the web and stores but couldnt find anything I really liked for them. So of course I took on another DIY Wedding Project…
I mean Hello, The Groom & his guys had Silver engraved Beer Steins, that we ordered, no DIY there. I was really impressed with them and wanted my girls to stand out too:) I also painted a Mustache on the Man of Honors (my bro) Stein so when he drank he had that iconic ‘stache I am a little obsessed with 🙂 I used the same paint for his Stein as I did the Ladies Wine Glasses
Here Goes: These were painstaikingly tedious and prolly the hardest DIY project I undertook. I used paint brushes, q-tips, and mostly toothpicks to get the designs on the glasses.
*I bought wine glasses in my fave shape. Then went to Michaels & Hobby Lobby, coupons in hand, and bought Glass Paint in my wedding colors (White, Red & Light Blue. Plus, Black). I will say the ‘Gloss paint’ was a little harder to work with b/c you needed lots of layers, unless you wanted it transparent. To get the light blue I had to mix a turquoise & white. Colors can be limited.
*Had a general idea what I wanted them to look like, so I printed different shape circles for the dots & printed out ‘Bridesmaid’ in the font I liked. Cut, then taped the designs to the inside of the glass so you are essentially tracing the image to the outside of the glass.
*Rubbing alcohol was a must! I put it on the glass & let dry before even putting any paint on, helps it stick better. Also works great to remove mistakes, just dip your toothpick or q-tip and remove the mistake.
*Once I was happy with the design I followed the Glass Paint directions for drying and baking in the oven.
I did free hand the stems and bottoms.
I also, made my own covered in diamond rings that I attached rhinestones to and added ‘Da’ Bride’ b/c I think i’m funny 😉 haha Plus I made my Glass stem have Zebra Print! b/c I am also obsessed with zebra print and had to incorporate it, subtly…..
The girls also were given Silver necklaces with their initial on it that they could or didnt have to wear on the day off. I just fell in love with dainty initial necklaces and had to get them.
Plus, I made them ‘Memory Boxes’ they were my DIY fave! Made with Circle boxes I painted and decopaged (sp?) with things that reminded me of each Bridesmaid. Images from magazines, books, cards they have given me, and photos. I used inside jokes, words that described them (beautiful, funny, blonde, fashionista, etc) Each one indivualized with everything I love and that reminds me of them 🙂
Then, last but not least a Survival Pack! They are all over WB and I couldn’t resist! Day off Pre-Party Vitamins, Day-After Hang-Over Remedy, mini bottles of booze, and all the little things to help the day off, nail files, visine, bobby pins, lash glue, safety pins, blotters, q-tips, energy shots, mints, etc etc……. We included the guys but we just gave them mints, booze & energy shots. The pic posted was a trial run with the boxes, etc. I ended up tying bows on the little bags and printed out stickers with nice font for the fronts of the boxes vs. my sharpie handwriting haha
I really enjoyed personalizing the Wedding Party Gifts!!!
