Find a gift personalized to them, ex. if they like makeup a gift card to Ulta or if they like reading a Barnes and noble gift card etc. something that’s just personali to them.

I would get them each a piece of jewelry instead of a tumbler….something that they can use again. I love the emergency kit idea though! Also, maybe a nice robe that they can wear for ‘getting ready’ pictures and that they can use after.

felicitah86:  Buy then each a gift as if it were their birthday. They don’t have to be the same. Pick something that caters to each girl’s personality and interests.

No one need or wants a bag of things they will never use.

felicitah86:  I need to stop purchasing bridesmaid gifts.  I have gone way over budget on this.  I keep finding things I know they will love!!!  Some thoughts from my browsing:

Tote: I went to Vera Bradley Outlet because I was looking on Etsy and thought I could find name brand for the same price.  I was correct.  I bought huge beach totes for like $22/each with an 80% off sale (these are frequent – try to go on a day that is NOT a popular shopping day for the best sales).

Bottle Openers: Look for something unique!

Lipgloss and Lotions: Both from Victoria’s Secret, lotion in 3 oz bottles, Bath and Body would be nice too.

Glass Water Bottles, monogrammed: I bought a voss water bottles, removed the wording with a razor, and etched them myself (martha stewart has a tutorial) with cool designs and their monogram.  My girls prefer glass to plastic.

Pinch Minimergency Kits: Super tiny, and can be found online for under $15…not a steal, but not bad either.  Can be made yourself too.

Yankee Candle Car Jars: I picked out beachy scents like I have seen them using 🙂  Regular candles might be nice too if you know they like them.  Scents can be tricky though so be careful with this one!

Jewelry: A nice set, bracelet (Alex and Ani are nice!), earrings.  They do not have to wear them the day of the wedding, though they certainly could.

Bridesmaids Robes: DO NOT COUNT AS A “GIFT” but my maids are ridiculously excited about them, and they picked out their own colors.  May be a nice idea.

OH!  And for flower girl/junior bridesmaid: mini versions of the totes with fun-shaped chapsticks and a hand-embroidered hankie from Etsy (also some on wedding chicks that are super cute and more cost effective).

ETA: I changed the wording on this to be more clear and informative.

felicitah86:  two suggestions:

1. only get them things you would genuinely use again, if you were them. Unless you and your BMS actually purchase monogrammed items in their lives, try to stay away from the monogram shirts, bags, etc. I would never wear a monogram button down….why oh why have I received three??

2. Stay away from wedding items, or giving ONLY wedding items. IE: robes to get ready in, jewelry to wear at the wedding etc. It is not really a selfless gift, if it is just something to make your own wedding photos look better.

Ideas I had for my girls: luxury/novelty chocolates, Anthropologie monogram mug, a framed picture of myself and the Bridesmaid or Best Man, designer beauty stuff (like chanel bodywash – great gift, looks very expensive, but not very pricey given the designer), an item that embodied an inside joke, sunglasses and advil for the next morning, a scarf, a nice candle (illume or similar)

My goal is to fill a canvas tote or nice gift bag with a bunch of small nice gifts, rather than one large one. I am personally staying away from perfume, jewelry and clothing because it is so hard to find something that everyone would love.

Excellent place to look: nordstrom.com gift department. You can search by price. They have everything from home goods and decor to food and designer accessories. Great selection.

bellbee:  SO right about the Vera bags. Many etsy sellers prices are comperable to name brand, and I think most BM’s would prefer the name brand/designer version.

Excellent idea about the voss bottles! I love voss bottles, and never thought about doing anything to customize them!
