- Wedding: May 2013
Quick backstory: my bridesmaids are my three best friends since high school and one of my little sisters. All of them are going to be traveling from otu of town to make it to the wedding, and are making it a long weekend in order to make it to my bachelorette party (which I planned for the Thursday before my Saturday wedding so no one would have to travel twice).
The girls all paid for their own dresses and alterations (as needed) but they are wearing whatever shoes they want, doing their own hair and makeup, and I have bought them the crinolines that I want to go under their dresses (because I couldn’t ask them to spend $45 on a crinoline that they will literally never wear again).
Now I’m busy gathering together gifts for everyone and I’m at a loss. I’ve spent quite a bit of money already, but none of it is a “gift” — it’s the crinolines and their handmade wedding jewelry (swarovski crystal/pearl and lucite flower statement necklaces with earrings and a bracelet), which is for them to keep but I’m not sure it counts as a “gift”. I definitely want to get them something more, but I’m not sure what that should be.
Here are my thoughts so far:
– Add a bottle of wine, and a tin of loose leaf tea for my underage sister
– A personalized wine glass (a mug for the little sister)
– A pair of ridiculous pj/lounge pants (since they all ask for a pair of these for every Christmas, lol)
– Lip gloss, compact mirror, makeup brushes
Is this enough on top of what they already have from the wedding, or not enough? I know they’re all taking time of work and spending a lot to travel and I want them to feel appreciated.
