k4yteeee:  My favorite Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts are always those which are purchased for each person individually. They don’t have to be all the same. The gifts will be perceived as more thoughtful if you don’t go out and buy 6 more identical gifts. What are their hobbies or interests?

I got my  bridesmaids each a set of cute pajamas that suited their personalities.

I would forego the personalized anything route. I don’t know about your friends but if I was given something with my initials or name printed on it…I would’t use it.

k4yteeee:  I got my girls Lilly Pulitzer candles (I tried to match the prints to their personalities) and initial mugs from anthropologie (they’re only around $8 and are super cute!). I also considered monogrammed tumblers before I went the mug route. Etsy has some very cute monogrammed stuff. I tried to avoid anything that said “bridesmaid” though–I wanted this to be stuff they could use in their day to day lives.

I was under a pretty tight budget, so I got my bridesmaids Hearthside Joggers and First Snow Mittens from Anthropologie. I also included a handwritten thank you. We had a winter wedding, so I wanted the gifts to be useful!

k4yteeee:  I made gift bags with stuff I got at craft store and Ulta and Ebay. For my vintage themed wedding, each girl got a vintage pair of earrings to wear from eBay. I mad personalized mugs with little messages (Cheesy but sweet) with plain dollar store white mugs their names with a ceramic pen. I also picked up cute/cheap monogrammed make up bags with their first name letter at the craft store. From ulta I got a great body wash that was buy 1 get one free that was a really nice brand and picked the scent based on girl’s taste. I also got this single use face mask called “what happened last night?”. then I had a thank you card in the bags. For my male brides-man I gave him a gift card to his favorite burger restaurant and a huge box of watermelon jolly ranchers (his fav flavor and he didn’t even know you could get only watermelon). Probably spent about 50 pp or a little less. It was fun putting the bags together and they all seemed to really like it!

k4yteeee:   I would skip anythin monogrammed. Carrying a tote with my initials on it would make me feel like I’m 5 and back at primary school when my mum would sew my name into my uniform so it wouldn’t get mixed up with the other kids during p.e

You do know that the gifts don’t have to (and really shouldn’t) match right?  Also, anything that is wedding related (meaning the robes since I assume those are for getting ready pictures, the earringsa and the hangers) should not be considered a gift.

Shop for your BMs like you would if it were Christmas or their birthday.  Think of them as individuals rather then a group of bridesmaids.  So if one loves to read on her nook, then get her a gift card and a new nook cover.  If one loves trying out new foods, you could get her a gift card to a new restaurant in her area.  If one loves wine, you can get her her favorite bottle and some nifty wine glasses, etc, etc, etc.

I have 6 girls and I’m basically giving each of them a tote bag of little things. Like all the bags are the same but they are different colors according to what they like, I got them each a light scarf based on their personal style, each of them are getting LuLaRoe leggings, since I’ve been slightly obsessed recently and they’re the best thing ever, but the patterns are very much based on each girl. I also got each one of them flip flops for the reception in case they didn’t want to wear their shoes the whole night. The rest of the stuff is super different. One girl is getting a makeup bag, hairspray and baking stuff, one girl is getting a sriracha cookbook and a mini grumpy cat plush, another girl is getting pokemon bath bombs from etsy, and raccoon shoes, another girl is getting knitted brain anatomy since she’s going to school for neuropsychology hahaa They’re all so different!

k4yteeee:  But the robe and such shouldn’t even be considered a gift.  That is the point I am trying to make.

And the whole thing of me saying shop for them like it is Christmas or their birthday is a way of saying shop for them individually as your friends, not as a group of BMs.  Yes, these are thank you gifts, but they should be personalized to each person.

Finally, making it easier on yourself says that you just don’t want to take the extra time and buy for them like you would a friend, but would rather just follow the trend of buying matchy matchy Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts.
