Let me preface this by saying I’m a bit of an overgifter…

I paid for each of my bridesmaids hair, makeup, and nails.  I got them each a piece of jewelry that suited them (not required to wear on the wedding day) and a little bridesmaids survival kit with little things for the day of.  And I treated them to a bridesmaids lunch the day before.

I actually just purchased these necklaces for my bridesmaids.

I’m also making them personalized bags with their initials. I’m not sure what else yet, though I might be paying for their hair.

The necklaces were about $20 each (with a discount), the bags are only about 5, and hair will be $20. So i’m hoping to keep it under $50…or at least close if I add anything else.

Here is what I’m thinking so far: either a large bag/purse or a cute picnic type basket with a bottle of wine, a few wine glasses, and wine bottle stoppers inside of them. All of my ladies love wine so I figured this would be nice. I am also getting them each a personalized vintage hankie with their initials on it to either have with them at the wedding or possibly wrap the base of their bouquets in. 🙂

I’d say I’ll be spending roughly $40-$50 per bridesmaid (I have three of them).

I am DEFINITELY an over-gifter. So far, I have gotten them each a custom hanger for their dresses (on etsy), a custom clutch (also from etsy), a bracelet, and a $25 gift card to the salon where we will be getting our hair and makeup done. I was also thinking of getting them pashminas to use the day of the wedding, since we will be taking some pictures outside and it might get chilly!

I am getting my  bridesmaids a vera bradley shopper tote (that I picked up for $4), vera bradley sunglasses (regular priced $70 and got them for $18 on sale at the outlet!), vera bradley travel toiletry bags (regularly $30 got them for $9 at the outlet), reef flip flops to put on at the reception so their feet don’t hurt and we can dance the night away, and I made each of them a personalized hanger for their dresses 🙂 It should cost about $60-70 per person

I’m paying for them to get their hair done, which I suppose isn’t much of a gift, but I’m also giving them a wine glass, bottle of wine and chocolates in a reusable tote bag. I’m giving them out at the rehearsal dinner.

I’m paying for their hair, make up and nails…and also doing a little gift bag for them at the rehearsal dinner with some smelly stuff and little personalized goodies…then on the day of, they’re getting monogrammed wine or pilsner glasses (most of my girls are beer drinkers), and they’re getting these earrings to wear:

I had a horrible time figuring this out myself!  I ended up spending between 50-60 dollars on each of them.  I got them each a bag from thrityone, a necklace with thier favorite gemstone from Amazon and something for each craft that they like to do.  One likes to decorate/bake cakes, one makes soaps, and one knits…. and I intend to give the gifts at the rehersal dinner as well

I’m an overgifter like hotchildinthecity:

Large tote bag from lands end

Plasic “go” cup with pink lemonade mix

Chevron striped make up bags from etsy that I’ll fill with “day of” essentials

Necklaces they can wear the day of if they want to but don’t have to

Mustache flasks with alcoholic drink kit

Flip flops for the reception if they don’t want to stay in heels (nice ones)

Set of 2 wine glasses

I’m also putting some snacks and water in their totes and getting them each something that’s personal to them like a gift card to their favorite store/restaurant or something like that. I’m debating if I want to get everyone cute robes or button downs to wear to get ready but I feel like that would be more for me to have cute pictures so we’ll see.

ETA: Forgot to mention budget. We set a budget of $500 total for wedding party gifts but I will say that we later decided to have the money come out of our personal budgets instead of the wedding account so we haven’t really been keeping track. I am looking for good deals though. For instance, I was going to DIY some Hobby Lobby totes but then I saw Land’s End was having a sale and they have really awesome totes. I got 6 large zip top totes for like $150 and free shipping. Normally it would have been $210 plus shipping. We’re giving gifts to the bridal party and parents at the rehearsal dinner.

I forgot to mention that I’m planning on setting up a mimosa bar for the morning of the wedding with champagne, wine, various juices and fresh fruit so we can have something to sip on while we get ready!

I haven’t decided yet— once we get the flowers sorted, it’s next up on the to-do list– will definitely pay for their hair, makeup and jewelry for the wedding but I’m not counting those as “gifts” because I think it’s kind of wrong to call anything a gift when I’m the one asking you to do it!

I’m thinking of nice satin bathrobes for each and then something unique to each one. Unfortunately each of these girls is VERY hard to shop for— I have a struggle every Christmas and usually just end up taking them for a night on the town— at least I don’t have to take care of the groomsmen’s gifts. I have the feeling there will be some rush-order-expedited-shipping fees from Amazon in my Mr’s future on those!

@fishbone:  I’m having trouble with the individualized gifts because my girls are the same way! I’ve started stalking their pinterest boards (for the girls that have them anyway) to get some ideas
