I’m debating whether I should get each of my 5 bridesmaids a $20 gift certificate (each to a different store) or a frame with a picture of us (and/or a note explaining that it will hold a picture from the wedding).
I don’t really want to spend much more money, but I am afraid I don’t have enough for them! None of them have really gone above and beyond on planning anything, but they are wonderful friends and have spent money on the dress and travel arrangements to stand up for me on my wedding day.
I am not paying for hair & makeup, but a few of them have opted to pay for it themselves. I am going to provide breakfast and lunch on Saturday while we’re getting ready.
Here is what I’ve gotten them so far. What else can I give them?
1. A cute absorbent hair towel in my wedding color (green), about $3 each at target
2. Burt’s Bees chapstick/gloss in varying shades/varieties, about $1.50 each at Nordstrom Rack
3. An eco sack bag (in a pattern that fits each girl, collapses into a small carrying pounch), about $9 each

4. A necklace (to wear on the day of, so I know there is debate about whether that “counts” as a gift), $20 each from Etsy.

I think that, that may be enough if you wanted to and are having dancing at the wedding you could get them the little slippers to change into after the ceremony during the reception. I think they are made by Dr. Scholls and they are under $10.

I think you should get one more thing for each girl…something personal that they would like and would not need to be used the day of the wedding. I doubt that the necklace is all of their styles, it’s just something you want them to wear for the wedding. So the items I’m actually seeing as gifts are just a small bag, a towel, and chapstick, which I don’t think is quite enough.
It would be different if they all had a different necklace to match their style. But once they match, that’s when I stop seeing it as a gift.

Honestly, that is about what I am doing for mine. A little personized bag of goodies, and jewlry. But mine are in town. When you say travel arrangment I am guessing they are OOT? I would get them each a gift cert maybe to somewhere to get breakfast the next day, or soemthing that would just help them out while they are there, that they would like.
Also your necklace is very pretty, and seems like somehting most girls would wear at lest one other time even if its not exactly their tastes. (other weddings??)
I like personized gifts, but I rather something that makes my life easier, or cheaper.
My Dad is coming from Out of Town (hates gifts) so I got him and my step mom a gift cert to his fav breakfast place next to his hotel. and setting up for someone to drive him and my uncle to the airport that is an hour away.

@bikinihoneymoon: I really like the idea of the picture frame with picture included (or to be included). It’s very sweet and something they could keep for a long time (vs a gift card), which will remind them of your wedding. I’d try to get all of them different frames so more match their personality and home decor. I know you’re trying to save money so try stores like Marshalls or Big Lots. They usually have great things for every inexpensive prices.

I think I may be leaning towards the picture frame. I will check Marshall’s, Big Lots, and Michaels. I also had the idea of getting some beautiful postcard prints to put in the frame! Thanks for everyone’s feedback! Keep the ideas coming!
