windowlulu:  I think the idea of them all wearing dresses that are slightly different (varying necklines etc) would not only solve this issue but look very nice. Order her dress in the size she is now so she’ll be comfortable and feel pretty for the wedding. Far preferable to have her dress altered if she loses weight before May than for her to not fit into her dress properly and feel self-conscious and unhappy in a dress she ordered too small hoping to fit into in time.

After looking at the dress I just want to say, I am a size 14 and I wore almost the exact same dress (only short!!) to my bachelorette party and it looked awesome, cinches you at the waist and is just forgiving enough around the tummy area!! As long as it’s the right size she’ll probably look awesome in it, but it doesn’t hurt to check on how she feels and order something else if she would be more comfy. Also, as the big girl in my friends group of size 4’s, I would not have been upset about my friend asking me how I feel about the dress if I had been planning to lose weight. It’s not like my friends care what I look like, they know that I care what I look like which is why they would be checking. If this girl is close enough to you to be a Bridesmaid or Best Man I really don’t think she’ll be offended at you bringing up whether or not she’s comfy at her current weight wearing the dress, especially since she’s the one who told you she wanted to lose. One last thing, my bms were my tiny friends and my one cousin who is a size smaller than I am, we just ordered her dress in her size and she added straps to make it more comfortable.

windowlulu:  the chiffon choices will def be more flattering and comfortable but I think the RG actually isn’t so bad. I was picturing something fitted. Here’s what i went with (also chiffon)

windowlulu: I actually think that dress might be ok. It has some coverage up top, and is looser around the waist. i wear a 14/16 and I wouldnt be terrified of that dress.

windowlulu:  That’s a really pretty dress. Are you doing long or short? I could see that looking great on a heavier girl, but I guess if she is not comfortable with it, thsts another thing. If you have four girls maybe see if you can out 2  with maybe a solid color, then you still have the dress and she is comfortable.
