I gave my bridesmaids guidelines regarding the overall look, material, and shades of purple. They shopped around and I found suggestions, too. We collaborated on their choices and they checked in with me on what they’d found, and I gave my final say. They’re happy and can wear their dresses again. Here’s some pics. (My brother was a “bride’s attendant” and wore a tie and vest in a shade of purple, too!) Good luck with your decisions!

@Carliej01: I let my BMs pick their dresses. I only saw 2/4 dresses before the big day.  One had a dress problem on the day of, and ended up wearing another BM’s backup dress, which luckily fit her perfectly.

My only 2 requirements were 1. Dark purple, not lilac or light purple 2. Not too slutty.

In the end they all picked different fabrics, different shades of dark purple and very different styles.  But they looked amazing.

My girls picked out their own dresses.  All I told them was the color.  They were free to pick whatever and I think they did a good job coordinating seeing how they didn’t see each other’s dresses!

@BoiledPNut: Where are your bridesmaid dresses from?  I love them.
