so i really would like my girls to be in a chocolate brown and have really nice flowers with a cute color combination to bring out their dresses. usually the groomsmen would wear black tux. do you think if they did wear black tux that it would clash with my brown dressed bridesmaids? or my best bet is to get the guys tux in brown?

My wedding colors are dark brown, champagne with ivory and peach accents.
My bridesmaids will be in dark brown dresses as well. Their dresses are from J.crew if you are interested, lol
Fiance did not like the idea of the groomsmen in brown tuxes because he thought they would look dated in time. I like them, but he has to wear it!
Anyways, go to a men’s wear store and ask them to put the looks together for you. We looked at brown and black tuxes, but ultimately LOVED the black tuxes!
The groomsmen will be in black tuxes with dark brown vests and ties. It looks great!
Also, my Fiance will be in a black tux with an ivory vest. Our fathers will be in black tuxes and champagne vests.

I really like the brown tuxes. I think it looks especially nice with the brown dresses. I would have actually liked the GMs to wear brown but black looked better with our other colors.

I’ve never seen brown tuxes. So maybe it would work but I can’t imagine it. I would agree with the groom who said it might look dated – I’m imagining brown and blue suits from the 70’s/80’s.
Brown and black look great together, anyways. It used to be a fashion faux-pas, but not recently (hmm, maybe the brown/black combo is a trendy look that will look dated too? who knows…).
