Sorry but this movie was a HUGE disappointment! They made it out to be the female equivilent of “the Hangover” (which By The Way is hilarious). Bridesmaids, however, was just super LAME and reminded me of the petty “girl games” and immaturity that I thought people grew out of after leaving highschool!

The lead character was a selfish, jealous, whiny, weak little girl that could change her situation if she just applied herself and stopped blaming everyone else for her problems. God, I just wanted to slap her silly!

The laughs were few and far between and really, more times then not, one actress (the larger BM) was responsible for them. But then, perhaps I’m missing the humour in sh*tting in sinks and public intoxication on an airplane at the expense of a so-called friends positive wedding experience.

Horrid waste of time and money!

I like this movie… thought it was super funny.  LOVE the bridal shower scene where she just flipped out.  It was about time.  And OMG, her roommates were so gross….LOL.  So many funny parts.

That movie made me laugh and cry like crazy. So entertaining, for sure!

@Regina Phalange:  You mean “NOT air marshall Jon”.  I love that he is her husband in real life.

Yes, I love this movie so much. I saw it twice in theaters and bought the DVD they day it came out.

The flight to Vegas scene is my favorite…ahaha. I’ve probably watched the movie 10 times by now 🙂

OMG I watched this movie on an international flight this spring. I had earphones.

I could not stop crying/laughhing/snorting to myself.  I’m sure people around me thought I was on drugs or something.  I had to pause it often so I could take a breather!

I didn’t like this movie the first time, but it has become a fave of mine now. I think it took a while to grow on me because that awkward “The Office”/”Extras” humor doesn’t usually do anything for me but make me feel uncomfortable…but after a few rewatches I found it to be quiet funny (I love the tennis scene, and anything that comes out of Rose Byrne’s mouth the whole movie) and also kind of sweet and honest (I mean, that momen where Kristen Wiig says “It just feels like her life is off getting perfect and mine is just pffffffttttttt”…I think it sums up a feeling all of us have had at some point in our adult lives, where we feel like we are just doing something wrong because everyone else in comparable situations just has it together)

@nursemel:  Yes! I completely agree! Which is why I don’t tend to watch movies that people looooove. I’d rather just get there on my own and watch it without expectations.

I felt like I was the only one who didn’t love it, so it’s nice to see that I’m not!

I thought it was an ok movie. Not amazing, not nearly as funny as people were saying. The plane part was pretty much the only funny part, and Melissa McCarthy’s character was funny, like with the puppies, but other then that I just got so mad at the main character, and didn’t like it very much.

@ellisrobertson:  The first time I saw this movie, it was at a sneak preview. I had no expectations and I loved it.

Melissa McCarthy was the only funny thing in that movie and she was very good.

I agree with those who weren’t fond. I watched it last night and was really disappointed. I too expected it to be hilarious, but rather found it annoying! Not saying it was a bad movie, buit there was so much hype that I had really high expectations! Oh well, it occupied me for two hours 🙂

@Wigglewagon:  Agreed.  Melissa McCarthy was awesome.  I found Maya Rudolph likeable in it, too.  Otherwise, I didn’t care for the movie.  I hated the main character, and didn’t care for how petty she and the other characters were.  There were some funny parts in it, but overall I thought it was a seriously overhyped movie.
