awwww

can you guys maybe help out with part of the tux rental?  maybe it would be best if you spoke to the best man directly instead of hearing second hand?  maybe he is just embarassed and a little offer would go a long way.  besides, offering to help with the cost would be a wonderful surprise wedding gift to your husband.  =)

Date twin – aww! I’m sorry about your Bridesmaid or Best Man and best man not being able to be in the wedding, but at least they informed you now, instead of waiting until the day before the wedding to tell you they couldn’t do it.

I still haven’t heard a peep from my delinquent Bridesmaid or Best Man about whether she’s getting her dress or not… and frankly, I don’t care anymore. At this point, I’m almost certain she’ll call me with some sob story about being sooooooo busy and sooooooo broke and that’s why she couldn’t go get a dress (over the course of the past year *rolls eyes*), and I’ll just calmly and sympathetically tell her, “It’s ok, I understand. I’m sorry you won’t be a Bridesmaid or Best Man, but I’m glad you’ll still be my guest!” (Of course, that won’t keep me from picturing in my head, my hands around her neck… lol)

(Then the question becomes, what kind of inappropriate dress is she going to wear as a guest? And what do I do with the bridesmaid gift I got her? lol Oy…)

Well, I have had a few of mine come with that sad story. Now since it’s drawing near everyone wants to go get a dress. I have done all the shopping I’m going to do. If you buy a dress then make accommodations since it’s a destination wedding.

What about allowing them to just wear black suits? Isn’t it more important that they be there than they all look alike?

If the tux rental is the only reason why they can’t do it, couldn’t you just let them wear nice suits? It doesn’t seem worth it to me to lose members of the briday party over something so small.

I totally agree with aruka11. Would you really want to exclude them from your wedding just because of a dress issue? I can hardly believe this.

By The Way I’m from Germany and we don’t have bridesmaids or bestmen at weddings at all…
