Hi ! Looking for suggestions for bridesmaid robe gifts. I have searched and searched on Etsy/other websites, and just havent found what I’m looking for. I wanted embroidery, and hoping for cotton. I was trying to stay away from silk/satin. It seems that there are so many of those though! I was in a wedding last year and the robe was cotton i believe. So much more comfortable! and not see through. Any suggestions/ links that can help me? Trying to keep it affordable as i have 6 bridesmaids.
thanks all!!

katienorth2 : plum prett sugar robes are cotton, but they’re also $60+ (not sure what your budget is/what you consider “affordable”)

I just saw some at Gabes (if that’s around you?!) for $7 each! Or check out target and them get them embroidered somehwere? I just bought silk from online, but I would have jumped on the Gabes robes if I didn’t already have mine!!

Commenting to follow! I fell in love with the ones on Plum Pretty Sugar, but I can’t swing $400 for 6 robes. I found some similar silk ones on Etsy, but now I’m debating on whether I wanna do cotton or silk. I feel like the cotton ones can easily look cheap, but are definitely more comfortable.

andielle : Thank you! I will check that one out! Yeah thats how i feel. I would rather buy the girls something they can re-wear. I wouldn’t want a silk robe if it were me. I have a cotton one from a wedding that i love and still wear – just can’t find them now!! lol

I got waffle fabric robes off etsy that are 65% cotton/ 35% polyester. They’re cute and comfortable, and look really nice. You can get embroidery and there are lots of options. Shop is called DesignWithLuv.

I bought mine from Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/silkandmore?ref=l2-shopheader-name
The robes are beautiful and cotton. The level of detail and work that the designer puts into these robs is wonderful. She works in India, and sends you a form that you fill out with yours and your BM’s details, including their height, whether they’re pregnant, etc. The robes came quickly, and packaged beautifully in a large envelope with a personalized tag. Her prices are unbeatable too – right now, she’s charging $19 per robe.

Who is supposed to buy the robes, bride for bridal party or bridesmaids pay for their own?

jrzbride2016 : I think it’s considered a gift from the bride. There’s no reason for get ready outfits to be matching – people could use their own shirts, but it’s becoming a more common photo opportunity now. Definitely would balk if a bride asked me to purchase a robe I’d never use again along with the standard dress, shoes, etc.

jrzbride2016 : bride buys these for the bridal party (though this is an optional expense). under no circumstances should the bridesmaids be required to purchase their own robes.

I just received mine from the etsy seller silkandmore. I ordered them on March 30th and they arrived yesterday (to Canada). I ordered the large floral blossom in black for my bridesmaids and the white for myself. It came to about $130CAD for 5 robes. I’m super happy with them 🙂
