I am getting my bridesmaids wine glasses decorated in their college colors, lightweight terry robes with their initial, and a handmade hanger with their name on it. (also paying for hair, 1/2 deposit for makeup if they chose to get it done, they got to pick their own dress).
We were going to get ready in the hotel, since there are makeup people there. That’s why I bought the robes. However, the makeup people 1 mile away (next door to where we will be eating brunch) are much ($30pp) cheaper. The makeup salon also has a private room we can reserve for free and change in. I really think its a WAY better option to have makeup done there: way more space than 2 hotel rooms with 2 beds and we’d already be next door. We’ll be there from about 12pm to 4pm.
Is it weird to still gift them the robes? I already bought them, so I will probably gift them regardless. I just don’t know how to present it: maybe “feel free to wear in the hotel we are staying (after rehearsal dinner), and bring it in case you don’t want to wear your shirt for hair and makeup.” I feel like its less awkward since we’ll have our own private room at the makeup salon. And, they could come in handy if someone didn’t remember a button down / tank. Or if someone is cold in their tank top.
So…. on the awkward sale… where is my gift right now? Ways to make it less awkward?
