So happy, have my bridesmaids completely sorted and still 6 months to the wedding!
Was visiting the US from New Zealand and took FULL advantage of the great exchange rate, amazing selection (compared to NZ!) and the huge empty suitcase I brought with me…It was supposed to be for my wedding dress but gave me tons of extra room for my bridesmaids stuff too!
I was really wanting pale blush dresses but after trying some on realized it is a hard color to wear without looking washed out! Was also looking for silver but of course not too light or too dark
I really wanted to be able to take the dresses home with me – the cost of shipping is insane (!) so I did, gasp, head to David’s Bridal. I have been in there once before and it wasn’t the place for me to get my dress, but I thought for bridesmaids it might be a good option. My dress is charmeuse type fabric so I was hoping to find something similar, and they did have a couple styles in that fabric I wanted to try. I tried the styles 83707 and 84177, and thought they were both really nice actually. What I really loved was the navy color, and they had tons in stock but it wasn’t in my color pallette!! So after some time to think – I changed my colors!! The navy is such a beautiful blue that is so complementary to all skin tones/coloring and the 83707 was so flattering figure wise that that was it!!
I did get my blush color in when I found these adorable shoes at DSW and topped off with necklaces from Ann Taylor, everything came in at $200 NZ! Trust me, I probably couldn’t find a similar dress in NZ for that price!!
So, here is my combo:
