For my first wedding I picked fabric and told them to pick their own patterns then had a seamstress make them.

My wedding is this Saturday and I picked a color at Azazie and told them to choose a chiffon, long, non strapless dress. They love them and it was incredibly easy.

fromsmithtodavis:  Pick a color, fabric and length at one designer and let them choose their own style.

I’m having mismatched bridesmaids. They will be wearing full length chiffon gowns – all in different soft pastel colors like this:

I just officiated a wedding where all the bridesmaids wore black knee-length dresses of all different styles/designers, and I thought it looked super classy and sharp. They did have all the same shoes, if that matters!

I initially told my BMs to go to David’s Bridal and get short dresses in one particular colour. But then there was a change of season and the available dresses shifted from that blue to a slightly different blue, so the two girls who bought dresses there ended up with slightly different shades after all.

Then the third bridesmaid decided that she didn’t want to spend more than $50 on a dress (despite assuring me that she would wear whatever I wanted when she was *convincing me to have bridesmaids in the first place*), so I just let her go to whatever store she wanted and buy a dark blue dress off the rack.

They were all different styles/fabrics, and slightly different shades, but everyone still looked great.

These are my bridesmaid’s dresses. I picked a color (ballet from David’s Bridal) and told them to get long dresses. One day I went to Davids Bridal with one of my bridesmaids and they randomly had all the dresses on display in a different color, so i guess someone thought they looked good together!!

fromsmithtodavis:  Just be sure to check their budgets privately with each one before you issue any directives.
