So a lot of backstory to this. Bear with me! I’m a rambler.
I have no problems with bridesmaids wearing white. There are some things about this wedding I care about, and others I flat-out don’t! One of my bridesmaids is concerned that this dress will distract from mine, which is a ballgown-style dress so I’m pretty sure that won’t happen! She doesn’t seem into the idea at all. I started to reply to her email and felt like I was being pushy, so I haven’t responded yet…
That’s the dress I’m looking at for them. I originally was set on a dress in royal blue (the wedding color), but I saw that one in white and it’s really grown on me. There’s a sash from David’s Bridal that will guarantee it’s the same color as the groomsmen’s vests, while also adding a splash of color.
The white looks so much “happier” and “airy” than the blue version to me:
Not even just the white, but she doesn’t seem to like the dress. She likes a different dress I shared with them, which one of my other bridesmaids hates. I have two very skinny bridesmaids and one that has a little more weight on her – she’s by no means large, but when you’re standing next to sticks, how can you not look it! She’s self-conscious so I’m trying to find a dress that will make her feel more comfortable, since that’s extremely important to me.
So, finally, my questons for you bees:
What do you think of that dress? Should I go with the white version + blue sash, blue version + white sash, blue version + no sash, or find another one that everyone likes? More importantly, how do I balance the different body types and self-esteems and tastes of the bridesmaids and myself?
