Let me say that I have not changed my internet habits over the past couple days at all – except for visiting some blogs on BrideTide’s top 100 list. Then poof one computer wouldn’t work (the virus protection wouldn’t work, it would freeze up, couldn’t do system restore, etc.) Now it won’t even turn on.
I thought it was an isolated incident, so I used my other computer to go back to BrideTide’s top 100 blogs. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY SECOND COMPUTER.
Now I have two computers that won’t even TURN ON. I am currently using my fiance’s computer (and I don’t dare visit BrideTide’s blogs again for fear of the same thing happening).
Has anyone else had this problem? I alerted BrideTide via Twitter and they told me that they “checked it” and to stop spreading rumors.

Thanks for the heads up. I won’t try it at home but will give it a go at work later this evening.

I just checked it out and no problems with my computer!

Let me know the trial and error for you ladies (if you dare). I can’t afford to visit the blogs until I know it is virus free. I’m too afraid to lose the last computer I own!

I keep bumping to hope for more clarity or answers from others who have experienced the same thing or who are unscathed.

Hello Whimsical Sprite, my name is Rudy and I am the found of BrideTide.com. This forum thread was brought to my attention by other wedding bloggers. After reading the information about your virus (we take this very very very seriously), I had over a dozen different people test each and every link on our Top 100 wedding blogs list to find out if your accusation is true. I can honestly say that not one person had a problem with our website. I did see your tweet on Twitter stating not to visit our website and now this thread. I am truly sorry that your computer is not working because of a computer virus, but it did not come from our website. Over 2,500+ people visit our brand new website every day and we have received ZERO complaints or inquiries about anyone having a virus on their computer. Our SEO team has also tested and confirmed each working link and have not found any virus or malware problems. Before you publicly state and suggest to people not to visit our bridal resource, I would appreciate some sort of specific proof that our website infected your computer. I can be reached directly at [email protected] and I would personally take the time to look over any data or specific information about the link you clicked that caused your computer problems. Once again, I am truly sorry that your computer is not working properly but it seems that our Top 100 wedding blogs list is not the culprit. We would certainly remove any links that would cause harm to our visitors and thoroughly test our outbound links for any sort of virus or infections. Thank you for visiting our website and I do hope you get your computer back up and running. Thank your time and opportunity to clarify the situation. – Rudy ([email protected])
