I’ve seen a tiered “cake” made from wheels of cheese. That could prob get super expensive

We had a cake made of different types of cheese wheels.  everyone loved it.  but we also had a dessert buffet for people who wanted sweets.

PS.  I could eat marzipan all day too!

I would eat the bejesus out of a cheese cake.

Google ‘savory wedding cake’ for non-cake options.  There’s tons out there, from specialty bread cakes to meat cakes to cheese and all kinds of other things.

Oh. Silly me. I made savory cupcakes for a friend’s wedding. Duh. They went over really well! They’re really just muffins disguised as cupcakes. I found the recipes here. We did four flavours, 2 sweet, 2 savory: Coffee chocolate with Bailey’s swiss meringue buttercream, Graham cracker with key lime cream cheese frosting, Cornbread with goat cheese frosting, bacon & chive garnish, Cheddar scallion with whipped cream cheese.

@atalante: Give me a recipe and let me run! LOL! The cake stands were actually ones from our wedding, I loved giving them another life!

ETA – The cheddar scallion ones taste SO much like the Cheddar Bay biscuits at Red Lobster! I added garlic and a bit more cheddar to the recipe to make it even closer 🙂
