I’ve been MIA for much of my pregnancy but wanted to check into WB with my daughter’s birth story.
Eliza Rose was born on September 9th at 11:09am. 7lbs, 7oz and 19 inches long.
Contractions started 8pm Saturday night so I labored down at home. We got to the hospital around 6:30am Sunday and I was already 7 1/2 centimeters dilated and 100% effaced. The staff was shocked especially considering this is my first baby. It took over an hour before they could administer an epidural. I was experiencing back labor which was excruciating.
Epidurals are life! 🙌🏻
They broke my water once I reached 9 centimeters. Waited for a bit, checked on me and said they could feel her head. I pushed for about 20 minutes and she was here at 11:09am.
Aside from the back labor everything went very well. Grateful baby and I are in good health. My husband was a natural and a huge support.
Three weeks later and we are still adjusting to such a major life change. Surprised by some of the challenges I’ve come across and I find each day is a learning experience. I did not particularly enjoy being pregnant, labor was more painful than I could have imagined and the first week home was unsettling as I wasn’t quite prepared for what my own recovery would entail. With that said, Eliza Rose was worth every moment of discomfort. Feeling very blessed.
Hoping to check into WB more and more as I become adjusted to the mom life.

Congrats!! 🎈 A healthy mom and healthy baby are the best things you can ever ask for. I had back labor too, so I feel you. Also LO will be 7 months old on Monday and we’re still getting used to having a baby, so there’s that. 😂

Thanks Ladies! Eliza will be 1 month old this Sunday and I feel like every Mom who has come before me when I say, where has the time gone!?
Caring for a baby is certainly a learning experience and a major life change. I am sure I will still be adjusting several months down the road as well. ❤️
