I was looking for a way to incorporate some color and pattern into my outdoor ceremony and I do not want the typical organza/satin chair sashes. I love paisley and my invitations are green/pink paisley and I wanted to incoporate some of that pattern.
I am looking to create my vision of a fun, romantic, southern wedding with a updated vintage twist. I’m getting married in a garden in Savannah GA.
Our invitations are green paisley with Fuscia cardstock:
Here’s a sample-ours is pink in place of the blue–
What do you ladies think of something like this? Fun florals, paisleys in pinks, greens, turquoise, yellow fabrics?
Tell me if this is a bad or good idea? Would it look tacky or fun? I have spent the last year renovating and decorating a southern colonial with my Fiance and although we have stuck to more muted colors in our home decor, I LOVE the bright fun spring/summer colors!

I normally hate chair sashed but I think those are super cute and VER FUN! Go for it!

Thanks for the feedback!
I too HATE typical chair sashes! I was even thinking of maybe knotted fabric with a flower just on the sides of the chairs with fun fabric, since I won’t have chair covers for the ceremony site and just your standard white chairs! Plus I guess a small knotted bow or something would be less fabric verses tying it across the back of the chair.
I think either may be really cute!

I think they are cute, BUT…
Keep in mind the amount of labor involved in tying each of those sashes. Do you have friends/family willing to spend an hour or more on your wedding day putting those on the chairs? If you have the caterers do it, they generally charge $1.00 or more per chair, so keep that in mind. Adds a lot to the overall cost!

Thanks for the tip crayfish!
I wonder if there’s a way to pre-tie some of these to slip over the sides of the chairs instead, or attach some way so that it would go much faster!
I’ll check with my FI-He’s great at executing all my crazy ideas in a simple way!
I do have a DOC, which is my best friend – we are both getting married this summer and have decided since we will know all the details of each other’s wedding, we would be the best DOC for setup, vendors etc.

I think the sashes are a good idea, but I think the bow should be a little bigger/flowy. Also, I know this is off topic but where did you order your invitations from? The ones depicted are PERFECT for my wedding and they are the exact same colors I’m using for my March 2012 wedding!

Where did you get these invitations at? They’re exactly what I’m looking for! Beautiful sashes, btw. 🙂
