It is not a cushion cut diamond. It is a radiant cut diamond. I don’t know if you were expecting an elongated cushion but looking at the dimensions it will be an elongated radiant and not a square radiant. You can find more if you google the exact phrase on the GIA certificate. It is still a very beautiful stone cut in a similar facet pattern to a cushion cut diamond.

I was also going to say that an elongated brilliant sounds like a radiant cut. I wouldn’t call them super rare, but I don’t see as many of them around. I have one amd love it. It sparkles like crazy!

Does it look similar to this?

Notice the characteristics of the radiant cut: a square or rectangular mixed cut with cut corners. Photo: Robert Weldon/GIA.

This is a radiant. Originally that cut was patented, which is probably why GIA doesn’t call it specifically radiant. I wouldn’t be worried about the SI2, the report states it as a knot and you said its under a prong, so the rest of the diamond is probably very clear besides that. Most people won’t notice much colour in an H either, but some (including myself) can. I’d be more worried about the polish and symmetry being off, but if you saw it with your own eyes and loved it, then that is the real test!

What a bad salesman to have gotten the diamond shape wrong.

Lots of diamond shapes come in “modified brilliant” forms. A cushion cut is often labeled as “cushion modified brilliant,” for example. The “cut corner” designation of your certificate indicates that it’s a radiant. The other 2 cut cornered shapes (emeralds and asschers) are often labeled as emeralds or square emeralds.

A beautiful diamond is a beautiful diamond. All that matters is that you love it. Don’t get too caught up in the cert, label, or rarity.
