I got my ring from Brilliant Earth, and I also went with my sister’s husband to pick out her engagement ring. I got my ring in August, and she got hers in 2016. I’ve been to the LA store and the Denver store. It is an amazing company, and I’ve had an amazing experience both times. They have a great selection of lab diamonds, natural diamonds, gemstones, and vintage engagement rings. The quality is amazing! I get compliments on my ring all the time. Highly recommend!

I just got engaged on Monday and my ring is from Brilliant Earth! I had been eyeing it for some time. It’s perfect, I love it so much!! I will say that my ring is white gold and an aquamarine and it is incredibly light. I can barely feel it on my hand but it is beautiful and very well made. My fiance said he had a great experience at the showroom here in Chicago. I can’t wait to pick out my wedding band!

I absolutely love my ring, and it is of great quality, but I unfortunately did not have a stellar experience with Brilliant Earth. We went to the San Francisco store, which was a good experience.  I picked out three rings, and left it up to my then bf to choose the one.

Here is where it goes south…

1) My now husband planned a special vacation based on when the ring was to come in. It ended up coming in over a week later than promised, so he didn’t propose on the trip. 2) My sweet husband pivoted and planned a day trip to the top of a mountain where we had one of our first dates instead. When he proposed on top of the mountain I was surprised to see a radiant cut diamond, as I had picked out 3 rings, and he was choosing the one. It was one of the styles I picked out, but I had wanted a round or oval diamond. I of course still said “yes!” and we enjoyed the rest of the afternoon. He then told me on the ride home that he thought the ring was off. That it didn’t look like an oval (it definitely was a radiant). So we look at the paperwork (GIA report) and it says 1 ct natural oval, which also matched the receipt my husband had. I ordered a loop to try and identify the GIA number – and it clearly said it was a lab diamond. We called BE during this time and they finally acknowledged they sent us the wrong ring, and that they didn’t make it in platinum (as ordered), so it would be another two weeks until I would receive it. They said to make it up to us, they would include a gift when they sent us the real ring. 3) When we finally got the ring my husband purchased it came with no gift. Now, I am not a greedy person, and I didn’t much care about getting free jewelry, BUT I did care about this company honoring their word after what we had been through.  I would have thought that making the incovenience up to us would have been a priority.  We did eventually get sent a gift, but only after I wrote a negative Yelp review.  My calls went unanswered until then.  I don’t think we ever even received a sincere apology.  I basically was made to feel like I was being high maintenance for wanting the ring we ordered in the promised time frame.

Because I wanted a perfectly matching wedding band, we went though BE again.  This was slightly better, as my ring was only a week later than promised, and when it came it was the right ring.  I bought my husband’s ring here too, as we had already picked it out. His ring is also of great quality.

Overall, I love my ring, but I can’t say I think Brilliant Earth is a wonderful company.  Who knows, maybe I was just unlucky or they didn’t care for my business.  It’s kind of a bummer, because I really wanted a second band, but they have lost enough trust with me, that I’m not willing to do business with them again.
