Both my fiancé and I separately had positive experiences with their customer service. He got a lot of guidance on payment and once he had paid (I think he did it in three installments, but had up to 12?) it arrived in two days!

My ring (have had it one year) is amazing quality. Compared to some friends rings, mine feels much sturdier and “heavier” in quality if that makes sense? Not cheap at all.

The stone is beautiful and the side stones/pave are just as sparkly!

We had a great in-store experience where we tried on a bunch of the ring styles I liked online and found that many of them looked to my eye, not right for my hand or thinking about wearing it for the next 50 years. I was glad we were able to get professionally sized and look at color differences – we both preferred the near colorless instead of colorless. He was also reassured about the difference between diamond and moissanite which I had been strongly in favor of the substitute.

We didn’t have any issues with ordering or shipping, the followup reminder about everything we had looked at was very useful since he didn’t order right away. DH was wanted to make sure there was a store location near us just in case anything went wrong so that was another reason we picked BE instead of other options.

In the two years since, no damage and it has held up very well. I did hear multiple concerns about melee diamonds sometimes falling out with some styles, so I did avoid those.

We choose the Peony setting with 7mm (1.5 equivalent) moissanite on size 4.5 in platinum.

beebridetobe :  One of my girlfriend’s husbands bought her ring from BE. She has a beautiful ring. I love that they are ethical, available online and based in California. If your fiance is going here, you’re a lucky girl!

My ring is from BE!! We had a very positive experience with their customer service in person at the show room and over the phone/online/email.

My fiancé (then BF) asked me to pick out my engagement ring, as he didn’t want to choose something for me that I might not absolutely love.  After some searching I found the perfect ring on their website, using the build your own ring tool. My fiancé made an appointment to go look at the ring in their Boston show room and asked me if I would like to come along to try on. I did, and we were able to see the ring style on my finger as well as the exact sapphire that would be placed in the setting. They also sized my finger. I tried on a couple other styles, but my instincts turned out to be right the first time around.

Fiancé ordered the ring that day and the salesman actually told him what day it was expected to arrive in Boston to be picked up. BUT since it actually arrived SOONER than the expected date, I was completely surprised when he proposed because I didn’t even know he had the ring yet! 10/10 would definitely recommend!

oh and here’s my amazing ring

Picking out a ring is so exciting! It’s been over a year and I’m still in love with mine from BE–it is solid, BE had a beautiful asscher cut at a price/quality/size combo we were happy with, and I seriously still stare into this thing every day. Possibly I’m a little obsessed. Hubs had a good ordering experience and we got both of our wedding rings there, as well. The only downside is that my setting’s side diamonds definitely have at least one visible black crystal inclusion and are not 100% color matched to my stone, despite us asking for them to be similar I-colored.

That said, one of my best friends got engaged soon after I did, and went to BE for a custom setting. I cannot emphasize enough how terrible her experience was–from a setting that proved to be completely unstable to customer service that literally would not return calls or make progress on the design (and, later, the repairs) for weeks. In the end, after a very long process, she was required to sign an NDA about her experience in order to get resolution. And an unsatisfactory resolution, at that–cutting your losses is not something you should have to do when it comes to your engagement ring. You’ll notice I’m not giving more details — and that I created a new account just to post this — because I don’t want to have BE figure out the case and come after her. (Although I’m not sure of the legalities–not a lawyer and I def did not sign anything….) Look at the Better Business Bureau reviews and judge for yourself. I still love my ring–which was not custom and is not a design that has a lot of pieces that could get damaged/loose. But if you’re looking at one of the very beautiful complex designs, or plan on wearing your ring full-time (like to sleep, cook, shower, etc.) you will either need to get some jewelry insurance and plan on getting repairs that BE will not cover or will take months to repair, or you need to find another place to buy from. I would not recommend you ever go to them for custom work.

My ring is the Imogen from BE. Fiance and I both had great customer service throughout the looking and buying process. They will send you pictures of the actual rings on their hands rather than just going by the rendered pictures online. That helps a lot! I adore my ring!!! Have had it just over a year now with no issues.

I just got my ring a few days ago, my overall experience was good but it took over a month to get the ring due to delays (COVID 19). My diamond is 1.91 carat, H colored, VS1 and it sparkles like crazy!
