francisg105:  It’s a pretty straight forward site and you’re doing well so far! I had to ask someone how to tag a person in a response, so you’re already beating me there, lol! Most of the time you get more responses on rings if you post in the ring section because some people like to frequent the ring board (like me) and if your post is under “engagement” we may never see it.

I looked at the ring you’re interested in and it’s very nice!  I don’t have the same ring, but I do have a shared prong setting and to answer your question, yes, I do have to take good care of it.  I check it more frequently than every 6 months because stones have come loose before, but come to think of it, the majority of the stones that have come loose have been in the halo, only once was a stone loose on the shank.  Just make sure if you ever bump it or drop it, etc. just check the stones immediately; that way if they were jarred loose you will know and will be able to take it off immediately and keep it safe until it can be fixed.  Here’s mine just in case you’d like to see (sorry it’s not what you were looking for, but at least it’s some kind of eye candy!) My ring is a size 6, but I don’t know the measurement of the center stone off the top of my head, probably wouldn’t be much help to you anyway though since it’s got a halo and you were looking at a solitaire.

francisg105:  I don’t have your ring either, but my ring is from BE and the halo is shared prong. I haven’t had any issues with the stones in the halo (though my entire general experience dealing with BE was a story…). I sleep and shower with my ring on. The only time I ever take it off is at crossfit.

If its any help at all, my ring is an 8x6mm (1.36ct…approx equivalent to a 1.25ct diamond) with a 1.8mm (2.5pt) halo on a size 6.5 finger.

francisg105:  No, I don’t sleep with my ring on–it’s not comfortable for me and even if it was, the prongs would loosen faster and it would create more work for me in the long run. 😊

francisg105:  Unfortunately, I can’t. They made me sign a Shut Up Agreement, in order to produce my ring. The experience was not a positive one – I love my ring, and wouldn’t trade it for the world, but if I did it all over again, I would go through BE. They’re super nice and friendly as long as nothing goes wrong – then it gets very messy very quickly. If you Google BE reviews, I remember there was some other guy on Yelp (?maybe) that had an issue with a ring, and in order to fix it, they also wanted him to sign an agreement, but he refused and they wouldn’t fix the ring. There’s info out there on bad experiences – I just can’t tell you about mine.

francisg105:  I love my ring. And the ethics was really important to me. I just don’t like to give my patronage to a business that makes it clear that they don’t value their relationship with me in the end. So I wouldn’t buy from them again.

However, I feel like I can say to you pretty confidently that they make a good product. If you get your ring from them, it will be beautiful and high quality. It’s just every other part of the whole experience that is lacking (consulations, showroom visit, dealing with returns, custom gemstone searches, etc.). If you pick out your ring, and order it, and that’s it, you’ll be fine. It’s once things go anywhere beyond the point and click stock ordering system that it gets beyond frustrating to deal with them (and make sure you get ANYTHING they say in writing if you have any questions that don’t seem to be answered on the website or contradict the website – there’s been a lot of “so and so told me X” that turned out to be false, but I had it in a transcript from them.)
