I am having some major dental work done, an implant that I am rushing to finish before our wedding in 30 days, almost done. Went today to my appointment for them to do the 3D scan to send to the place to make the tooth and they were choosing the shade, I was so sad that my teeth were so discolored! I have always been self conscious about that and now with the missing tooth I had to get the implant before the wedding or I knew I’d be ducking pics.
So when they were matching the color I decided to say the hell with it and ask about teeth whitening figuring maybe they could lighten me a couple shades. I did the Brite Smile whitening and changed ELEVEN SHADES! I was towards the last few teeth on the sample scale and now I am the whitest option available. My teeth are whiter now than when I was a teenager! I almost fell out of the chair. The younger dentist that did the procedure was so excited she ran right into the head dentist’s office to tell him and they made me show him. I wish I took before/afters, seriously it was the best money I ever spent on something vain!
I feel like now I will actually WANT to smile 🙂 Soooo excited about the results and surprised, too. HIGHLY recommend it!

Oh yay!! I wish I could have afforded that. I’m using the crest white strips. They work, but not as instantly and dramatically.

@sehrler: I really want to get this done. Does it make your teeth feel sensitive at all?

that’s great! I had some cosmetic dentistry done years ago and it majorly improved my self-esteem. I was finally able to stop photoshopping every photo, LOL!
I have a tip: to maintain newly whitened teeth and keep the stains from coming back, Tom’s of Maine whitening toothpaste works best for me. I know it seems as if an all natural product would not work as well, but I swear by it. it even worked better than rembrandt, IMO!

@sweetchiquita12: They warned me it might, the dentist came and and she said, “so are you ready to suffer for beauty?” which FREAKED ME OUT because I’m a huge dental baby. HUGE.
I almost bailed but said oh screw it and did it. I had a couple of what they call “zingers” yesterday, maybe 5-6 times it felt like I got zapped in a tooth with an electric shock, but they were infrequent and if you bite down they subside fast. They gave me a gel to use if the sensitivity got bad which I haven’t had to use–and the dentist said when she had it done she felt “yucky” for 4 days–I feel fine today! *knock on wood*.
A little sensitivity, won’t test it by biting ice cubes or anything but so far not bad at all, I also took some Advil all day yesterday and today to prevent it. I’d say it’s definitely worth it for me!

@sehrler: Thanks so much for the info. It sounds like it didnt bother you much after getting it done which is good. I’m seriously considering getting this done before my wedding next year. I will keep you updated if I do it or not 🙂
